Plot Synopsis

Outstanding American chefs compete for a chance to be a member of the Chairman's team on IRON CHEF AMERICA with original American Iron Chefs Bobby Flay, Cat Cora and Masaharu Morimoto. Competitors travel from Los Angeles to Japan to New York, where they are challenged to create dishes that represent a variety of world cultures and cuisines. Whether working with exotic ingredients like jelly fish, creating their own version of international "fast food" or experiencing umami with sponsor Kikkoman, the chefs must demonstrate their speed, artistry, innovation and leadership in each dish. In Season 1, Cleveland chef and restaurateur Michael Symon whipped seven other contestants. Jose Garces was selected the newest Iron Chef in Season 2, with Marc Forgione winning the Season 3 competition. In Season 4, which aired with the title NEXT IRON CHEF: SUPER CHEFS, Geoffrey Zakarian outcooked these nine celebrity chefs: Anne Burrell; Michael Chiarello; Elizabeth Falkner; Alex Guarnaschelli; Chuck Hughes; Robert Irvine; Beau MacMillan; Spike Mendelsohn; and Marcus Samuelsson. In Season 5, titled THE NEXT IRON CHEF: REDEMPTION, these 10 all-star chefs returned to Kitchen Stadium for a final chance to become The Next Iron Chef: Nate Appleman; Duskie Estes; Elizabeth Falkner; Amanda Freitag; Eric Greenspan; Alex Guarnaschelli; Tim Love; Jehangir Mehta; Spike Mendelsohn; and Marcel Vigneron.
