Plot Synopsis

Based on the Japanese cult sensation, IRON CHEF AMERICA carries on the legend of Kitchen Stadium and the famed "secret ingredient." Each week, world-class chefs battle the legendary Iron Chefs of America: Bobby Flay, Mario Batali, Masaharu Morimoto, Cat Cora, Jose Garces, Michael Symon, Marc Forgione, Geoffrey Zakarian, Alex Guarnaschelli and Stephanie Izard. Alton Brown serves as Host/Commentator and Mark Dacascos is Chairman. The 10-episode thirteenth season of IRON CHEF AMERICA premiered on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT on Food Network. Overseen by host Alton Brown, each standalone episode pits an up-and-coming chef competitor against an elite Iron Chef in a stunning secret ingredient battle of over-the-top edible greatness. Joining Alton and the Chairman (Marc Dacascos) this season is Chef Jet Tila, who will serve as floor reporter and, along with Alton, offer commentary on all the Kitchen Stadium action. Each week, two guest judges taste the extraordinary offerings and determine "whose cuisine reigns supreme," sending one chef into culinary infamy. In the season opener, "Guarnaschelli vs. Anderson," Chef Brittany Anderson, who is known as Richmond Virginia's schnitzel queen, hopes she doesn't leave Kitchen Stadium feeling blue after battling one of the Chairman's best: Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli. Antonia Lofaso and Simon Majumdar serve as guest judges. Other guest judges this season include: Anthony Anderson & Judy Joo; Ming-Na Wen & John T. On Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT, Food Network premiered "Garces vs. Spence," the season finale of IRON CHEF AMERICA. Seattle Chef Carolynn Spence brings her Pacific Northwest cuisine into Kitchen Stadium to battle Iron Chef Jose Garces. Marcel Vigneron and Leslie Bargar Suter serve as judges in this crustaceous battle.
