Plot Synopsis

From the creators of THE GREAT CHRISTMAS LIGHT FIGHT, THE GREAT HALLOWEEN FRIGHT FIGHT is a series of specials that feature a number of families competing for the greatest haunted Halloween displays and a grand prize in each installment.

The first special debuted on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 8-9pm ET/PT on ABC, with judges Michael Moloney and Sabrina Soto, who also appear in THE GREAT CHRISTMAS LIGHT FIGHT. For the Halloween special, the families were chosen through an extensive nationwide search, based on their previous elaborate Halloween displays, incredible set decorations and over-the-top designs. Competing for the $50,000 grand prize are: husband and wife duo, Chris and Jeana, from Glendale, CA ("Hollywood Haunter"); Eric and Janice from Lee, NH ("Haunted Overload"); Dave and Andy from Lewiston, MI ("Terror at Tee Lake"); Neil and Julie from Celebration, FL ("The Pirate Ship"); Shawn and Lynne from Pensacola, FL ("Mitchell's Spider Invastion"); and Anthony and Toby, along with their 12 year old daughter Ava, from Wharton, NJ ("Haunt for the Hungry").

THE GREAT HALLOWEEN FRIGHT FIGHT returned with two new specials, beginning on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 10pm ET/PT on ABC. The two specials feature THE GREAT CHRISTMAS LIGHT FIGHT's Taniya Nayak and Carter Oosterhouse as judges, with four families per episode competing to win the $50,000 prize and the coveted Fright Fight trophy.

Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 10pm: Hold on to your broomsticks! It's time for the season premiere of THE GREAT HALLOWEEN FRIGHT FIGHT with four families facing off to be named best home haunt in the country. The Britt family transforms their house into Britt's Wicked Manor, where the undead spring to life in a supernatural cemetery in Reno, Nevada; the Dunahee family creates a magical fairy-tale land complete with a fire breathing dragon at The Haunting of Storybook Hollow in Comstock Park, Michigan; the McCabe family dares guests to enter dark and narrow passageways filled with over a hundred spine-chilling animatronics at Lehman Manor in West Chicago, Illinois; and the Herman family transports viewers into the depths of an abandoned gold mine at Wicker Manor in Denver, Colorado. Watch as judge Carter Oosterhouse decides who will win the $50,000 grand prize and the coveted Fright Fight trophy.

Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 10pm: The festivities continue on the season finale of THE GREAT HALLOWEEN FRIGHT FIGHT The Gentry family welcomes guests and ghouls to dance along to an animatronic skeleton performance that wakes the dead at Ghost Manor in New Orleans, Louisiana; the Hoke family from Granger Indiana invites you to enter their Chamber of Souls and ride on their expertly constructed replica of a Doom Buggy inspired by the Haunted Mansion attraction at Walt Disney World Resort ; the DeMatteo family transforms their yard into an epic pirate battle with life-sized ships and pyrotechnics at Halloween on Ambush in Churchville, New York; and the Roa-St. Pierre family takes the chills to the next level with their eerie 1800s-era haunted Reichland Asylum in Riverside, California. Watch as judge Taniya Nayak decides who will win the $50,000 grand prize and coveted Fright Fight trophy.
