Plot Synopsis

Two chefs travel to New York City to compete against each other in a culinary contest, earning the right to challenge Bobby Flay in a cook-off featuring their own signature dish. In THROWDOWN! WITH BOBBY FLAY, Flay traveled across America, surprising chefs on their own turf by challenging them to make the signature dish of his competitors. Now, in each 30-minute episode of BEAT BOBBY FLAY, the chefs come to NYC instead. Each program opens with two chefs facing off against each other, creating a spectacular dish with a secret ingredient of Bobby's choice. The judges -- Alex Guarnaschelli and Jeff Mauro in the pilot episode -- pick the chef they believe has the skills to take down Bobby in his own kitchen. The winner then surprises Bobby with the signature dish they both must cook, and they go head-to-head to find a culinary champion.
