Plot Synopsis
Because of it's high profile, The Justice League can no longer effectively fight supervillains; so a group of teenage superheroes bands together, partly working undercover to fight crime. Led by Aqualad, these youngsters want to prove to others -- and themselves -- that they belong with the great heroes of history, but they must also survive adolescence. The core Young Justice team includes: Aqualad (age 15); Robin (age 13); Kid Flash (age 15); Superboy (age 16 weeks); Miss Martian (age 16, in Martian years); Artemis (age 15). Plus, 16 of the regular Justice League members appear. Cartoon Network aired a two-episode sneak peek of the series on Friday, November 26, 2010 -- the day after Thanksgiving -- with the series officially premiering on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 7pm.
After nearly a six-year break, YOUNG JUSTICE returned for a third season, titled YOUNG JUSTICE: OUTSIDERS, on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 9am ET/6am PT, as DC Universe released three new episodes. The new season features the return of the fan favorite animated series with a huge cast of DC's most iconic young superheroes - plus brand-new characters, many of whom are just discovering their unique meta-powers and special abilities. Set against the backdrop of a rich, deep world that touches all corners of the DC Universe, the season focuses on meta-trafficking, and an intergalactic arms race for control of these super-powered youths. DC Universe releases one new episode each subsequent Friday. A little more than five months after the Season 3 mid-season finale, YOUNG JUSTICE: OUTSIDERS returned to DC Universe with three new episodes on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. DC Universe releases one new episode on subsequent Tuesdays at 9am ET/6am PT.
Moving to HBO Max for its fourth season, this series, now titled YOUNG JUSTICE: PHANTOMS, debuted on Saturday, October 16, 2021 with two new episodes. A new installment dropped weekly on Thursdays through December 30. Miss Martian, Superboy, Beast Boy and Martian Manhunter take a little vacation... to somewhat unfriendly climes. Are you ready to join the ranks of the great heroes and prove you're worthy of the Justice League? That's exactly what the members of Young Justice, will found out - whether they have what it takes to be a proven hero.
