Plot Synopsis

THE YARD is a one-hour reality series that follows the engineers, mechanics and carpenters at some of America's largest shipbuilding operations, as they rush to complete repairs and hustle to get as many boats in the water as possible by deadline. From struggling to fill an order of 40 ferry boats to dealing with the unique challenges of a remote Alaskan location, this series reveals what it takes to get seaworthy ships deconstructed, reconstructed and ready for launch. THE YARD follows these companies: Yank Marine (Tuckahoe, NJ), including owner John Yank and general manager Mike Tilsner; Diversified Marine (Portland, OR), with owner Kurt Redd, dock master Race Turner, yard worker Curtis Schlotzhauer and project manager Chris 'Noodle' Waters; Superior Marine (Wrangell, Alaska), with owner Don Sorric and yard workers Victor Ibarra and Blumaro Ramirez; and Shamrock Towing (Somers Point, NJ), with owner John Ryan and deckhand Michael Senatore.
