Plot Synopsis

Based on the series of graphic novels of the same name, Y: THE LAST MAN traverses a post-apocalyptic world in which a cataclysmic event decimates every mammal with a Y chromosome except one cisgender man and his pet monkey. Survivors struggle to restore what was lost and the opportunity to build something better.

After a mysterious Event wipes out every living creature with a Y chromosome, Congresswoman Jennifer Brown rises through a decimated line of succession to become President of the United States. Jennifer assembles a dedicated team of women to rebuild, but her plans are upended when she learns that her son Yorick survived the Event. Facing massive unrest fueled by widespread conspiracy theories, Jennifer teams up with covert operative Agent 355 to keep Yorick's survival a secret and transport him to Dr. Allison Mann, a top geneticist who may be able to discover how he survived. Yorick has other ideas. An old school romantic, he is desperate to find his missing girlfriend Beth. As Yorick and 355 hit the road in secret, Jennifer's political rivals circle, led by Kimberly Campbell Cunningham. Kimberly senses that Jennifer is hiding something and tried to uncover the truth in order to bring her down.

Meanwhile, Jennifer's daughter Hero, an EMT harboring deep shame and a dark secret, works with her best friend Sam to find safety in this post-apocalyptic landscape. They join with Nora Brady, a political advisor struggling to keep her young daughter alive. Together, they encounter a well-organized and ideologically-drive group of survivors led by Roxanne, a former homicide detective who has become a cult-like figure. As this group becomes more violent and dangerous under Roxanne's leadership, Hero and Sam's friendship is tested while Nora begins to see a different path for herself and her daughter.

Eventually, these worlds collide as old alliances crumble and new ones form. The survivors grapple with the identities they clung to before the Event, struggling to reconstruct a sense of self in this new world. As they start to cast aside old rules, norms and traditions, they slowly begin to realize that the old world is gone and never coming back.

"The Day Before" (Monday, September 13, 2021): On the eve of the worst crisis in human history, Congresswoman Jennifer Brown clashes with the President. Her children Yorick and Hero reach an emotional crossroads. None of them know their lives are about to change forever.

"Would the World Be Kind" (Monday, September 13, 2021After a mass casualty event wipes out every creature with a Y chromosome, President Jennifer Brown responds to the crisis. Yorick fears he may be the only survivor. Hero attempts to right a wrong.

"Neil" (Monday, September 13, 2021): With Jennifer and Yorick reunited, Agent 355 pitches a plan for what comes next. The dead President's daughter, Kimberly, circles Jennifer's secret. Meanwhile, Nora Brady and her daughter Mack say goodbye to home.

"Karen and Benji" (Monday, September 20, 2021): On Jennifer's orders, Yorick and Agent 355 search for a geneticist who can unravel the mystery of how he survived. Meanwhile, Hero and Sam encounter a dangerous group of women.

"Mann Hunt" (Monday, September 27, 2021): Yorick and Agent 355 search for Dr. Allison Mann in war-torn Boston. Back in D.C., Jennifer hides the truth about Yorick from her political rivals.

"Weird Al Is Dead" (Monday, October 4, 2021): Yorick, Agent 355 and Dr. Mann hit a snag on their way to San Francisco. As the search for 355 heats up, Jennifer clashes with former cabinet secretary Regina Oliver, who has her eyes on the presidency. Hero is seduced by a charismatic leader, Roxanne, as Sam and Nora grapple with their place in a dangerous group of survivors.

"My Mother Saw a Monkey" (Monday, October 11, 2021): Kimberly uncovers a secret. 355 and Allison reach an understanding. Yorick stumbles on a mysterious town where things are not what they seem.

"Ready. Aim. Fire." (Monday, October 18, 2021): Tensions at the PriceMax spiral out of control. Hero and Sam pass the point of no return. Nora uncovers dangerous secrets.

"Peppers" (Monday, October 25, 2021): As tensions at the Pentagon come to a head, Jennifer faces a new, surprising threat. Meanwhile, the Amazons hit the road.

"Victoria" (Monday, November 1, 2021): As the Amazons close in on Marrisville, Nora reaches a breaking point. Yorick makes a new connection while 355 faces her past.
