Plot Synopsis

Wyatt Cenac, a longtime correspondent for THE DAILY SHOW, examines a wide range of social and cultural problems facing Americans in the show, which features documentary-style field reports that serve as the focal point of each episode. These segments take Cenac around the country -- from suburban Minneapolis to downtown Cincinnati to rural Texas -- as he investigates systemic issues from his unique perspective. Cenac also tackles more benign problems facing Americans, offering comedic solutions to everyday inconveniences. In addition, WYATT CENAC'S PROBLEM AREAS features in-studio commentary on current events, addressing issues and engaging the audience to keep the conversation going through social media.

Season 2 of WYATT CENAC'S PROBLEM AREAS premiered on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 11pm ET/PT on HBO. This season focuses on education in America, investigating teacher pay, student mental health, the school-to-prison pipeline and other pressing topics. Cenac visits West Virginia, Oregon, California, Minnesota and other areas around the country to learn how communities navigate issues facing public education. While education today serves as the season's primary focus, WYATT CENAC'S PROBLEM AREAS addresses other issues, including the unionization of fast-food workers and the potential dangers of facial recognition software, as well as comedic solutions to lighter topics, such as how to get more steps in at the office or how to teach kids practical skills, like filing taxes. The season opener focuses on labor problems.
