Plot Synopsis

THE WRONG MANS is a half-hour comedy thriller about two well-meaning idiots who become entangled in a hideous world of crime, conspiracy and corruption. Sam Pinkett is a lowly office worker, whose laziness and lack of ambition have caused him to stagnate in his job as a Town Planning and Noise Guidance Advisor at Berkshire County Council, where he reports to his boss and ex-girlfriend, Lizzie. At work, Sam is the only person who tolerates Phil Bourne, a dreamer and total loser working in the mailroom at the County Council building and living with his mum, Linda, a former nurse. When Sam is the sole witness to a shocking car accident, he answers a ringing mobile phone at the crash site and finds himself mixed up in a deadly kidnap plot. After Phil learns of the danger unfolding around Sam, he persuades him that it is their duty to act -- together -- because Phil longs for some excitement and adventure. The duo begins by being sent to rescue a hostage, falling deeper into a sinister world of agents and double agents. Then, after inadvertently interrupting an assassination plot, they bring danger to their own doosteps, threatening the safety of their friends and family. It's gonna take a huge leap of faith for Sam and Phil to turn back and face the very people that are threatening them, their loved ones and their town, but they might have to go on the run to prevent loved ones from being dragged into this deadly conspiracy. Hulu presented the U.S. premiere of this series on Monday, November 11, 2013, releasing all six episodes of Season 1 at the same time.

On Christmas Eve 2014 (Wednesday, December 24), THE WRONG MANS had its US premiere on Hulu, just two days after its world premiere on BBC Two in the UK, as the online content provider released all four half-hour episodes of Season 2 at the same time. In the new season, the two hapless heroes, Sam and Phil, embark on an international quest to prove once again they are The Wrong Mans. Their adventure begins in Texas, where Phil receives news that will require them to change locations yet again, just as he and Sam and Phil were settling into witness protection in Texas. James Corden, the host of the upcoming LATE LATE SHOW WITH JAMES CORDEN, starred in and co-wrote all four episodes.
