Plot Synopsis

Since 1998, the World Golf Hall of Fame has inducted new members with a ceremony that honors golf's greatest achievers. The World Golf Hall of Fame recognizes individuals "who have positively impacted the game of golf on the grandest scale," including pro golfers, amateur golfers, architects, journalists, innovators and teachers. Even thought it didn't induct its first member until 1998, the World Golf Hall of Fame has members who "were grandfathered in via the former Hall of Fame in Pinehurst, NC," which had been honoring people since 1951. Originally scheduled for November 2010, the 2010 Induction Ceremony was postponed. The next ceremony was held on Monday, May 9, 2011 so that the event coincided with the first day of THE PLAYERS Championship week, and ever since then the event has been held on that Monday of the golf calendar. The 2013 Induction Ceremony -- held on Monday, May 6 in the St. Johns County Convention Center adjacent to the World Golf Hall of Fame and televised that same night on the Golf Channel at 10pm ET -- featured five new inductees: Fred Couples, Colin Montgomerie, Ken Venturi, Ken Schofield and Willie Park Jr. There was no ceremony in 2014, and starting with 2015 the ceremony will take place every two years.

On Monday, July 13, 2015 at 1pm ET/10am PT, the Golf Channel broadcast live coverage in the United States of the 2015 Induction Ceremony, which was staged in St Andrews (Scotland) the week of The Open Championship. Diana 'Di' Dougherty emceed the ceremony, which inducted the 2015 Class: Dame Laura Davies, David Graham, Mark O'Meara and the late A.W. Tillinghast. The upcoming schedule of induction ceremonies includes returning to World Golf Village for the 2017 event, which will be held the Monday of THE PLAYERS Championship week. In 2019, the Induction Ceremony will move to Pebble Beach, CA, and be staged on Monday of U.S. Open Championship week.
