Season 3 Season 4
Plot Synopsis
WIPEOUT starts with 24 contestants who are competing for the chance to win $50,000 by completing multiple rounds of obstacle courses. Events include: the Sweeper, Dreadmill, Dizzy Dummy, Big Balls, Sucker Punch, Topple Towers, and many others. The general format and game play of WIPEOUT is reminiscent of a popular 1980s Japanese game/stunt show, TAKESHI'S CASTLE, but, as usual, the US version lost some of the kitsch factor -- and all of the silliness -- that made the original so enjoyable. Plus, the hosts mimic the commentators on Spike's MXC (formerly MOST EXTREME ELIMINATION CHALLENGE), which dubs new comedic audio over the original TAKESHI'S CASTLE video. Season 6, which featured the return of co-host Jill Wagner, debuted on ABC on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 8pm ET/PT. WIPEOUT returned for its seventh season with a special two-hour premiere on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 7pm ET/PT on ABC, before moving to its regular timeslot on Sundays at 8pm ET/PT the following week. In Season 7, the winners of each new episode will be brought together at the end of the season for a Tournament of Champions. Plus, the new season will feature special themed episodes, including a chance to win a date with Jill Wagner, and the return of fan favorites, like "Boss & Employee."

On Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 8-10pm ET/PT, ABC aired the two-hour season finale of WIPEOUT. In the first hour, "Fraternity vs. Sorority," 24 Greek rivals showcase their school pride and their competitive spirit, but only one walks away with a spot in the Tournament of Champions, which premieres immediately afterwards. Then, at 10pm, ABC premiered the "Tournament of Champions" episode, as winner face champs in the show's first-ever tournament of champions. To be crowned the Ultimate Wipeout Champion, one contestant must outlast the other competitors, as they battle through Chopper Blade; Big Balls; The Playpound; Baby Nips; Mama's Bro; and Our Own Hottie.
