Plot Synopsis

Part gameshow/part reality series, each one-hour episode of THE WINNER IS features six acts that go head to head, singing for 101 music experts and then deciding to take a cash offer and leave the competition or stay in the game and continue singing for a shot at a $1 million grand prize. Immediately after the panel votes, host Nick Lachey reveals the numerical voting results, but doesn't reveal which musician won. He then offers the competitors a cash prize to leave the competition and three seconds to hit a buzzer to take the money and run. If contestants believe in themselves, they'll pass on the cash, take their chances on the results, and continue in the competition or go home with nothing. NBC aired sneak-peek episodes of this series on consecutive Mondays, June 10 & 17, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT, nearly one month before the official series premiere on Thursday, July 11 at 9pm ET/PT.
