Plot Synopsis
Created and executive produced by Marc Cherry, WHY WOMEN KILL is darkly comedic drama series that centers around one Pasadena, CA, house, which was home to three decades worth of marital strife. The series examines how the roles of women have changed -- a housewife in the '60s, a socialite in the '80s and a lawyer in 2019 -- but how their reaction to betrayal... has not. In 1963, Beth Ann's life as a doting housewife is upended when she learns of her husband Rob's infidelity. In 1984, socialite Simone is blindsided by her husband Karl's devastating secret. In present day, high-powered lawyer Taylorhas an open marriage with husband Eli. WHY WOMEN KILL premiered on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as CBS All Access released the first episode. Additional episodes debut on subsequent Thursdays.

Season 2 of WHY WOMEN KILL premiered on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Paramount+ released the first two episodes of the new season, which features a new ensemble cast and storylines set in 1949 that explore what it means to be beautiful, the hidden truth behind the facades people present to the world, the effects of being ignored and overlooked by society and finally, the lengths one woman will go in order to finally belong. The second season stars Allison Tolman, Lana Parilla, B.K. Cannon, Jordane Christie, Matthew Daddario, Veronica Falcon and Nick Frost. The first two episodes are:
"Secret Beyond the Door": With dreams of status and glamour, Alma Fillcot (Allison Tolman) hopes to fill a recently vacated seat in her local Garden Club, led by the intimidating Rita Castillo (Lana Parrilla). However, when Alma discovers her loving husband Bertram's (Nick Frost) shocking secret, all of that preparation and hard work is jeopardized.
"The Woman in the Window": A shaken Alma investigates Bertram's disturbing collection of "souvenirs," determined not to let this discovery complicate her Garden Club aspirations. Meanwhile, Rita is still suspicious of Scooter's devotion and is further aggravated by the arrival of Catherine, her ailing husband's daughter.
