Plot Synopsis

This half-hour scripted series follows the complicated life of Nancy Botwin, a single mom who evolved into a seasoned player in the drug trade after starting as a small-time suburban pot dealer struggling to support her family following the unexpected death of her husband. Each year Nancy becomes more of a full-fledged queenpin, facing life and death stakes everyday, and she was aided by brother-in-law Andy to help raise her sons Silas and Shane -- along with fellow Agrestic neighbor Doug in constant tow. She's survived being the girlfriend of a DEA agent; she's set her own Agrestic house on fire so she could start a new life near the US-Mexico border; she's gone into business with the Mexican mafia, only to later be on the run while living under a pseudonym; and she's spent three years in prison. After being released from federal prison at the start of Season 7, Nancy and her family are reunited in Manhattan, where she re-launched her pot business while working at a hedge fund and fighting for custody of her son, little Stevie. When the season ended with a lone gunman firing a fateful bullet at a family dinner, the episode ended with two cliffhangers -- who pulled the trigger and which Botwin was the target?
