Plot Synopsis

WEED WARS follows the owners, workers and suppliers at Oakland's Harborside Health Center, the nation's largest medicinal cannabis dispensary serving over 80,000 patients. From the growers and farmers who cultivate and harvest the plant to the rigorous lab testing of the cannabis, this series shows what happens to medicinal marijuana before it hits the shelves at the Center, which is known for its high demand and reputable quality control. Once inside the store, WEED WARS highlights the earnest and knowledgeable front-counter staff that provide the best possible product to a diverse client base of patients. Plus, founder, owner and change agent Steve DeAngelo is on a mission to tell the rest of the country about the full regulation and taxation of cannabis, all while battling City Hall protests and dealing with constant police monitoring and security sweeps.
