Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski, WEDDING CAKE CHAMPIONSHIP is a one-hour competition series that gives six baking duos a chance to show off their skills as they whisk through two rounds of challenges. First, they must tackle wedding cake toppers, where one team earns a special advantage in the next round when the bakers must design a personalized wedding cake for a real-life couple. Judges Kimberly Bailey, Maneet Chauhan and David Tutera determine which teams move on and which will be eliminated from the competition. The action continues week to week, all leading up to the grand finale, when the pressure is on for the three remaining teams as they are challenged to create the most over-the-top, impressive cake for Tara Lipinski and husband Todd Kapostasy for their first wedding anniversary. The team on top wins a $25,000 grand prize and the title of Wedding Cake Champion!

Food Network premiered the second season of WEDDING CAKE CHAMPIONSHIP on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT, with hosts Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir returning to welcome a new batch of elite bakers who hope their talents will deliver. The six baking duos are challenged as they whisk through difficult cake challenges and face extreme requests from real-life couples that test the limits of their skill and creativity. Judging the action week-to-week are baking extraordinaire Kimberly Bailey, CHOPPED's Maneet Chauhan, and SAY YES TO THE DRESS host Randy Fenoli. The team to rise above will earn a $25,000 grand prize and the title of Wedding Cake Champion! In each of the four hour-long episodes, the teams face two rounds of challenges. First, they must tackle wedding cake toppers, where one team earns a special advantage in the next round when the bakers must design a personalized wedding cake for a real-life couple's big day! In the season opener, "Puppet Love," the baking duos face their first challenge: creating a cake topper that showcases a city of love. In the cake round, the bakers must create a dream wedding cake for Andrea and Jered, a couple of professional puppeteers who want a blend of a traditional wedding design for her and a puppet theme for him. The couple chooses their favorite cake to have at their wedding, and expert judges Kimberly Bailey, Maneet Chauhan and Randy Fenoli decide which team is sent home. The pressure is on for the three remaining teams in the grand finale on Monday, June 24th at 10pm ET/PT, when they are challenged to create the most over-the-top, impressive cake for Bachelor in Paradise's Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon. Only one team will cream the competition to take home the grand $25,000 prize and the title of Wedding Cake Champion!

On Monday, June 24, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT, Food Network premiered the Season 2 finale of WEDDING CAKE CHAMPIONSHIP. In the season ender, "Ashley I. and Jared," the last three teams of bakers start by making lifelike flower cake toppers. For their final cake challenge, the teams must bake epic cakes that exude New England glam for Ashley I. and Jared, two lovebirds who fell for each other in front of the world on Bachelor in Paradise. Judges Kimberly Bailey, Maneet Chauhan and Randy Fenoli make the final decision of which team wins $25,000 and is crowned the Wedding Cake Champions.
