Plot Synopsis
Executive produced by NBA superstar LeBron James and series host Chris Hardwick, THE WALL is a quiz show that uses a four-story-high Plinko wall to determine how much each team wins or loses after each question. The rules are simple: Get a question correct and a green ball falls down the wall and adds the value of the slot to the players' winning total. Miss a question and an ominous red ball with fall and deduct the value from the teams' total. Teammates have to work together to build a huge cash prize. As the game progresses, the stakes get even higher when one player is sent into an isolation room behind the wall. It is here where the pairs' faith in each other will be tested as they play the remainder of the game without any communication. On Monday, December 19, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT, NBC premiered a sneak-peek episode of this series, with the official series debut scheduled for at two-night premiere on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 10pm and Tuesday, January 3 at 8pm.
On Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT, NBC premiered the second season of THE WALL, with Chris Hardwich returning to host the gameshow that puts more than $12 million on the line every night -- and up to $3 million on a single drop. The season debut features two contestants: Milton & Aaryn. On Monday, December 4, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT, NBC premiered "Deck the Wall: A Holiday Spectacular," a one-hour Christmas-themed episode of THE WALL. In this special episode, all trivia questions are holiday-themed. With tremendous cash prizes at stake, a big-money win will uplift the holiday spirit for this mother-daughter duo as well as their community ... but will the "snowballs" drop their way?
Season 3 of THE WALL -- originally scheduled to debut with back-to-back new episodes on Thursday, June 20, 2019 and then announced to debut in mid-July 2019 -- premiered on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 7pm ET/PT on NBC. The all new season opens with Rebekah and Chris, a married couple from Houston, Texas. Rebekah is a Boston Bombing Marathon survivor who lost her leg in the blast as she was shielding her young son from danger. After both Rebekah and her son recovered from the bombing Rebekah realized that the emotional injuries her son sustained were far worse than the physical ones. This led Rebekah to form a charity to help kids suffering from PTSD. Rebekah vowed to do everything she could have done on two legs, on one leg, including winning millions of dollars.
The fourth season of THE WALL debuted on Monday, January 4, 2021 at a special time: 10pm ET/PT on NBC. Hosted by Emmy Award winner Chris Hardwick, the new season features a game-changing twist that offers contestants the option to play for more money than ever before with "Wall to Wall," where seven golden balls drop simultaneously to build toward their bank. This high-stake move has the potential to add over $1 million to their winnings, but also comes with the risk of wiping out their bank if they answer the question incorrectly. The upcoming season breaks records when two lucky players accumulate the highest bank in series history and play for $2.8 million. After a seven-month break, THE WALL returned with new episodes on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 10pm ET/PT on NBC. In the mid-season debut, "Tom and Kasey," Tom, a college baseball coach from Winston-Salem, N.C., made a life-saving kidney donation to one of his players. Now he will team up with his daughter, Kasey, to put their luck and knowledge to test on the wall. Do they have what it takes to win big?
