Plot Synopsis

Businessman Ripley Holden is trying to build a casino while dealing with marital problems with Natalie, the usual family issues with his two children, Cheyenne and Jack, and a murder investigation. This series uses musical interludes -- with the actor essentially performing a duet with the original artists -- to advance the storyline a few times per episode. Ripley was a convenience-store magnate in Laughlin, Nevada who sold his business to build a new casino, Viva Laughlin. Partway through construction, casino-investor Buddy Baxter wants out, and since Ripley has already invested his life savings, he must look for a new investor. Again. He approaches Buddy's wife, Bunny, as well as his rival, Nicky Fontana, but they both reject his offers. Shortly after these meetings, Buddy is found dead in Ripley's office, and Ripley is now one of many suspects in the murder investigation.
