Plot Synopsis

Each year from 1998 through 2004 and annually since 2009, VH1 stages VH1 DIVAS, a benefit concert for its Save The Music Foundation (http://www.vh1savethemusic.com/), which is a non-profit organization "dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in America's public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child's complete education." Since its inception in 1997, the VH1 Save The Music Foundation has provided (as of December 2012) $49.5 million in new musical instruments to 1,850 public schools in more than 192 school districts around the country, impacting the lives of over 2.1 million children. VH1 DIVAS 2012, hosted by Grammy-nominated Adam Lambert, was televised live from the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 9pm ET/6pm PT, featuring a tribute to Donna Summer and Whitney Houston. The 2012 event was highlighted by performances by Ciara, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland, Jordin Sparks, Kelly Clarkson, Melanie Fiona and Metric, who paid homage to the greatest divas of dance music.
