Plot Synopsis

'90s pop-icon Rob Van Winkle (a.k.a. Vanilla Ice) and his crew of contractors renovate mansions, one room or area at a time, while working through the trials and tribulations of a high-tech and environmentally-friendly remodel and flip. Each season, Rob and his crew renovate a different house in Florida, including: a 7,000-square-foot mansion in Palm Beach (Season 1); a 10,000-square-foot home on the edge of the Polo Grounds in Wellington (Season 2); and a 6,000-square-foot home in Palm Beach that was in desperate need of a facelift (Season 3).

Season 4 premiered on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT, with DIY Network showing back-to-back new episodes. In the fourth season, Vanilla Ice renovated an outdated mansion on high-dollar lakefront property. In order to renovate, flip the house and turn a profit, he and his crew overhauled this diamond in the rough into a luxurious palace suitable for a rock star. From crafting a Tuscan-style kitchen with a one-of-a-kind ceiling mural to completely gutting the master bathroom and transforming it into a spacious spa retreat, the team had their work cut out for them.

DIY premiered the fifth season of THE VANILLA ICE PROJECT on Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 10-11pm ET/PT, showing back-to-back new episodes immediately following a marathon (5-10pm) of encore episodes from the previous season. In the Season 5 opener (10pm), "A Killer Kitchen," Vanilla Ice and his ninjas transform a cramped '80s kitchen into a million-dollar masterpiece featuring onyx countertops, custom cabinets and, wait for it, a glowing jellyfish tank. Then, in the night's second new episode (10:30pm), "Mother Nature vs. Family Room," the roof is leaking as Rob battles a tropical rainstorm while creating the ultimate home theater room.

Season 6 of THE VANILLA ICE PROJECT premiered on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 10-11pm ET/PT, as DIY Network debuted back-to-back new episodes. The 13-episode sixth season features projects such as a 3,000 sq. ft. five-bedroom, four-bath lakeside estate that requires Ice and his team to find cost-effective ways to achieve the impressive renovation. After an extensive demo, the guys add a 500 sq. ft. master suite with walk-in tub, a custom spiral staircase and floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors along the back side of the home to emphasize the view. But it wouldn't be a true VIP flip without a little Florida flair, so the team adds an infinity-edge pool and spa, an indoor bowling alley and a custom lake dock for landing helicopters. In the season opener (10pm), "Hunting for the Next VIP," Vanilla Ice and Wes search Palm Beach, Florida for their next big project. They check out 4 unique properties from an oceanside mansion to a sprawling ranch, hoping to find a diamond in the rough. Then, in the night's second episode (10:30pm), "Views from the Great Room," the main entrance of the house opens into the Great Room, making this space very important to Rob since he wants to wow all the visitors. By opening the space up and extending it to the water, Rob wants to turn this room from boring to soaring. A custom fireplace, new marble floors and a unique ceiling application are sure to transform this space.

VANILLA ICE PROJECT returned for its seventh season on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 10-11pm ET/PT, as DIY Network premiered back-to-back episodes. The new season features Vanilla Ice and his team of "construction ninjas" as they face time and budget constraints while restoring a sprawling but decaying property. Each episode features the team as they strip the home down to its bones and transform it into a modern, Polynesian-style oceanfront retreat. When Vanilla Ice is finished, the astonishing overhaul is sure to wow visitors for years to come. In the season opener (10pm), "Commotion by the Ocean," Rob and the ninjas are back in action looking for their next project, and Rob has his hands full with amazing properties. But, the house that speaks to Rob has big problems. Will the ninjas be able to see the potential? Then, in the night's second new episode (10:30pm), "Hip-Hop Hibachi," Rob designs a VIP hibachi grill for the hero house with fiber-optic lights that change colors with the push of a button. It's safe to say the ninjas will be dining in style, so long as no one gets scorched in the process!

DIY Network premiered the 10-episode eighth season of THE VANILLA ICE PROJECT on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 10-11pm ET/PT. Vanilla Ice and his team transform a derelict 1970s house into an ultra-modern, state-of-the-art home with over-the-top amenities. This season is all about big risks and big rewards since the property boasts a 30-person hot tub, infinity edge pool with an epic waterfall, airport hangar, five-car garage and fully equipped gym.

Season 9 of THE VANILLA ICE PROJECT premiered on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT on DIY Network. In the season opener, "Kicking Hot Pink to the Curb," Rob and the ninjas tackle a rundown property in an up-and-coming neighborhood in Wellington, Florida. Their budget is on a dime and they've got limited time, so they roll up their sleeves and add some VIP luxuries to transform this hot-pink eyesore into a dreamy modern estate.
