Plot Synopsis
Each year, the United States Figure Skating Association sanctions the U.S. FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS, in which figure skaters from across America compete at the juvenile, intermediate, novice, junior and senior levels for 20 U.S. titles in ladies, men's, pairs and ice dance. During Olympic and World Championship years, the U.S. FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS serves as the final qualifying competition before U.S. Figure Skating names its competition teams. The U.S. FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS made its television debut in 1961 as part of the CBS SUNDAY SPORTS SPECTACULAR, with Bud Palmer emceeing coverage of the event, which was videotaped on the preceding Friday and Saturday at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, CO.

Ilia Malinin, the 2023-24 Grand Prix Final gold medalist and reigning world bronze medalist, and reigning national champion Isabeau Levito headline NBC Sports' live coverage of the 2024 Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships from Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
NBC Sports is set to present over 40 hours of live coverage of the 2024 U.S. Figure Skating Championships this week across Peacock, NBC, and USA Network, starting Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 1pm ET/10am PT with the Junior Pairs' Short live on Peacock. NBC present lives coverage windows on Friday (Jan 26), Saturday (Jan 27), and Sunday (Jan 28), while USA Network presents live coverage windows on Thursday (Jan 25), Friday (Jan 26), and Saturday (Jan 27). Coverage of every skater in every discipline streams live on Peacock throughout the duration of the championship event.
Malinin and Levito highlight NBC Sports' coverage. Malinin, the first skater to land a quadruple Axel, looks to defend his 2023 national title while Levito, who took gold at 2023 Grand Prix France, ranks as the top American woman in the world and also aims for her second straight national title.
Other notable skaters expected to compete in singles this week include two-time Olympian and seven-time U.S. medalist Jason Brown, two-time U.S. medalist Amber Glenn, and 2018 U.S. junior champion Camden Pulkinen. Reigning world champions and four-time U.S. champions Madison Chock and Evan Bates headline the ice dance event, joined by three-time U.S. medalists Caroline Green and Michael Parsons.
On the NBC and USA Network windows, Terry Gannon will handle play-by-play alongside 1998 Nagano Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski and three-time U.S. champion Johnny Weir as analysts. Five-time U.S. champion and Olympic silver medalist Ben Agosto serves as analyst on the ice dance events, and Andrea Joyce will serve as reporter.
