Plot Synopsis

Douglas Petersen is looking forward to a meticulously planned grand tour of Europe with wife Connie and their only child Albie. Douglas has pegged it as the family holiday of a lifetime, to mark their last summer together before Albie leaves home for university. However, before they embark on the trip, Connie drops a bombshell: she's not sure she wants to be married to Douglas any more. Douglas seizes the holiday as his chance to fix things, a desperate quest to save his marriage in some of the most beautiful cities in the world. Will he be able to convince Connie that he is the man she fell in love with? In Paris, Connie and Douglas struggle to hide the tension between them from Albie, who's already less than thrilled to be backpacking with his parents. Busking with his guitar on the streets of the French capital, it doesn't take long before he meets fellow traveler and free spirit Kat who crashes the Petersens' holiday and immediately tests Douglas' resolve to be a newly fun and relaxed husband and father. Based on David Nicholls' book of the same name, US had its U.S. premiere on Sunday, June 20, 2021 from 9-11pm on PBS (check local listings).

On Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 9-11pm, PBS debuted the finale of US. Searching for Albie in Venice, Douglas makes a new friend, Freja. Later, he lands in jail. Back in England, Connie wonders what's going on.
