Plot Synopsis
This scripted dark dramedy series gives a behind-the-scenes look at the chaos surrounding the production of a hit competition-dating reality series, EVERLASTING. UNREAL follows producer Rachel Goldberg, who manipulates her relationships with and among the contestants to get the dramatic and outrageous footage the program's dispassionate executive producer Quinn King demands, while dealing with her own mental health, her ex-boyfriend Jeremy, one of the program's cameramen, who is now engaged to Lizzie, the on-set makeup artist; Adam Cromwell, the show's handsome suitor; and Chet, the series eccentric creator. Also complicating life on and off the set are EVERLASTING's mercurial contestants: Grace who immediately wins Adam's heart; Anna, who is classy and shrewd, with her eyes on the prize; Faith, a sensitive and vulnarble tomboy from the South; and Mary a gorgeous single mom who has been unlucky in love. Arielle Kebbel will guest star as Britney, a contestant who has no filter and isn't on the show to make any friends.
Lifetime premiered Season 2 of UNREAL on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 10pm. Having already tackled relevant matters of gender politics, the series, starring Shiri Appleby and Constance Zimmer as producers Rachel Goldberg and Quinn King, will stir up the drama in season two when Everlasting casts its first-ever African American suitor, Darius Hill, an All-American football star, will be played by B.J. Britt. Returning as series regulars are Craig Bierko as Everlasting's creator, Chet, who is on a quest to reclaim his full power on set; Josh Kelly as Jeremy, Everlasting's director of photography; and Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman as Jay, a field producer whose ambitions run far beyond the show. This season of UnREAL also features four female directors including series co-creator and executive produceer Sarah Getrude Shapiro, Appleby in her directorial debut, Janice Cooke and Nzingha Stewart.
The 10-episode third season of UNREAL premieres on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT on Lifetime. Caitlin FitzGerald takes the reins as Everlasting's female "suitress," Serena, a Silicon Valley mogul. Determined to have her pick of eager male suitors, Serena faces off with Everlasting's queen bees, producers Rachel Goldberg and Quinn King, who are shaking things up -- all for the sake of ratings -- after last season's PR disaster and Rachel's self-imposed exile. The ladies will be tempted more than ever when they're surrounded by hot new suitors including Bart Edwards, Alex Hernandez, Adam Demos, and Alex Sparrow. After a poker game with the contestants leaves Serena the sore winner, Chet teaches her how to be the woman that all men want to marry.
