Plot Synopsis

Inspired by Tracy McMillan's life, UNPRISONED is a half-hour dramedy series about a messy but perfectionist relationship therapist and single mom whose life is turned right-side-up when her dad gets out of prison and moves in with her and her teenage son. Straight off a 17-year stint in federal prison, Edwin Alexander crashes back into the lives of his daughter Paige, and her teenage son, Finn -- just as Paige is attempting to achieve her lifelong dream of buying her own home. Paige moves into her new house, but Edwin complicates her life at every turn -- especially her relationship with her boyfriend. Meanwhile, Edwin enlists Finn's help to get a job. The entire eight-episode first season dropped on Friday, March 10, 2023 on Hulu.

Season 2 of UNPRISONED debuted on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 on Hulu, which released all eight half-hour episodes of the new season. The Alexander Family is still a mess -- Paige's therapy practice is in trouble, Finn's anxiety is through the roof, Edwin is still figuring out how to get his life together outside of prison, and their relationships are more complicated than ever. The family needs help and it's time to call in a professional -- OTHER than Paige. The Alexanders turn to a "family radical healing coach" who throws out all the rules to free them of their issues, old wounds, and family secrets holding them back.
