Plot Synopsis
UNDER THE VINES is a dramedy series that follows two unlikely city slickers who inherit a failing vineyard in rural New Zealand. Despite neither having ever done a hard days' work in their lives and both despising the other, they must somehow make the vineyard successful so they can sell up, split up, and get out of there. Sydney socialite Daisy Munroe heads to Peak View, New Zealand for a vacation at her recently deceased stepfather's winery, which she intends to sell. Little does she know that the vineyard has a co-owner, grumpy UK-born lawyer, Louis Oakley, who also travels to the wine region to escape a spiraling series of unfortunate events in his life. Despite neither having done a hard days' work in their lives and both despising each other, the two must somehow make Oakley Winery successful so they can sell up, split up and get out. The first two episodes of UNDER THE VINES dropped on Monday, December 6, 2021 on Acorn TV, with a new episode debuting each Monday through January 3.
The six-episode second season of UNDER THE VINES premiered on Monday, January 23, 2023, as Acorn TV released the first two episodes. Two new installments dropped each Monday through February 6. In Season 2, Sydney socialite Daisy Monroe and ex-London lawyer Louis Oakley are trying to run a struggling vineyard in southern New Zealand. As Daisy comes to terms with her new life, Louis tries to repair his old one before returning to England. But ultimately his marriage fails and he stays on to help Daisy run Oakley Wines. The two unlikely partners in wine continue to navigate life in Peak View and its population of quirky locals and Machiavellian rivals. But any chance of romance between the two is muddied when Daisy meets David, the handsome local doctor. Meanwhile Oakley's young vintner Tippy has her world shaken by the arrival of popular French vintner, Philippe Bidois -- and he's her cousin.
Season 3 of UNDER THE VINES debuted on Monday, August 19, 2024 on Acorn TV, which released the first two episodes. One new installment dropped each Monday through September 16. Former Sydney socialite Daisy Monroe and ex-London lawyer Louis Oakley continue to run the small vineyard Oakley Wines in Central Otago, New Zealand, while navigating their complicated love lives. Six months after the end of Season 2, Daisy and Louis are trying to oust William, the mysterious stranger who arrived at the end of the season claiming half of Oakley. But it seems the annoying shanty-singer's claim might be legitimate, so the Oakley crew must get crafty in their bid to oust him. Especially as he seems to be ingratiating himself into the lives of their rivals Don and Marissa at Shimmering Lake. On top of that, Daisy has a ton of other distractions. There's her wedding with David to plan; "heart parent" duties for Nic and Vic's impending birth; Tippy doesn't want to talk about a new change in her life; and even Louis seems distracted after his rebuffed declaration of love. That's a lot to process as the show counts down to Daisy's big day...
