Plot Synopsis
For eight seasons, TWO AND A HALF MEN was a sitcom about the family life of two brothers, Charlie and Alan, who lived together and raised Alan's son, Jake. Alan is the divorced, uptight younger brother who makes his living as a chiropractor. After Alan's divorce, he and Jake moved into Charlie's house. Charlie Harper was a wealthy, fortysomething ladies man who made his millions composing commercial jingles, which allowed him to lead a hedonistic bachelor lifestyle from his Malibu beach home. Despite their different personalities, Charlie and Alan did have one thing in common -- they both loved Jake and wanted to guide him through childhood in their own unique ways. At the beginning of the 9th season, Charlie Harper no longer appeared; instead, Alan's foil was Walden Schmidt, an internet billionaire with a broken heart, who purchased Charlie's home and allowed Alan, Jake, and their acerbic maid, Berta, to stay. Season 9 closed with Jake and Eldridge, the son of Alan's girlfriend Lyndsey, graduating from high school and electing to join the Army, where they were in basic training, possibly regretting their decision. At the start of the show's tenth season, Walden threw a surprise birthday party for girlfriend Zoey, but he was in for a bigger surprise. After their breakup, Walden become depressed, but eventually re-emerged on the dating scene. In the Season 10 finale, Jake comes home to tell his father he'll be stationed in Japan. Season 11 debuted on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 9:30pm ET/PT on CBS, as Charlie's long-lost illegitimate 25-year-old daughter, Jenny, showed up at Walden's beach house to connect with what's left of her family. Amber Tamblyn, who plays Jenny, described her character as "a raging alcoholic who loves women," just like her father, Charlie. Following his real-life rant against the show during the previous season, Angus T. Jones is scheduled to appear only as an infrequent guest star in the new season, with Jenny essentially replacing Jake as the third character of the 2.5 men. TWO AND A HALF MEN returned for its twelfth and final season on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on CBS. In the Season 12 premiere, "The Ol' Mexican Spinach," Walden decides to reprioritize his life with Alan's help, following a health scare on Halloween. Aisha Tyler guest stars.
