Plot Synopsis
TOTAL DIVAS is a one-hour reality series that follows a group of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Divas and Divas-in-Training, revealing their personal lives and documenting their in-ring performances. The series opened with a look inside WrestleMania, marking the first time that any television series was granted exclusive behind-the-scenes access to WWE. The Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie) returned after a year-long break and they battled their tag-team nemeses, The Funkadactyls (Naomi and Cameron). The Divas in Season 1 were: Nikki Bella, a tomboy with a feminine side, who has had a relationship with one of WWE's biggest names, which will be revealed in the debut episode; Brie Bella, a half-Italian/half-Mexican beauty, who has has found love in the arms of one of WWE's biggest names, Daniel Bryan; Naomi, a former dancer for the Orlando Magic, who recently went public with her relationship to WWE Superstar Jimmy Uso; Cameron, who is in a relationship with a man not in the WWE world, which presents a lot of obstacles of its own; and Natalya, a member of The Hart Dynasty, who is the daughter of Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart and the niece of Bret 'The Hit Man' Hart. The two Divas-in-Training -- only one of whom will survive in the world of Divas -- were: Eva Marie, a rebellious spitfire, who makes her presence known to the male Superstars when she flirts relentlessly with fan favorite Fandago; and JoJo, who comes in a tiny package but has booming and harmonic voice which just adds another layer to her talents. Later, Eva Marie caused more drama amongst the Divas when she landed a spot in WWE's SummerSlam event. She pushed Nikki Bella too far when she fueled the rumor that she will become John Cena's (Nikki's boyfriend) personal valet. Later in the season, WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan proposed to a surprised Brie Bella.
The sophomore season of TOTAL DIVAS premiered on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on E!, with Summer Rae joining the cast. Throughout Season 2, the women continue to climb the ranks in WWE with Eva Marie becoming a fierce competitor and fan favorite, Nikki reestablishing herself after her nearly career ending injury, and Brie and Trinity positioning themselves as possible Divas Champion contenders. Nattie, however, isn't thrilled when Summer Rae infringes on her fan base and screen time, causing the two women to go head-to-head in the ring and behind the scenes as tensions rise. The season culminates with Brie Bella's marriage to WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan and the women competing for the Diva's Title at WrestleMania. While most of the Divas were living large, Nikki was patching up her relationship with WWE Superstar John Cena, as he had discovered her long kept secret -- unbeknownst to anyone but her twin sister -- that she had been married before.
TOTAL DIVAS returned for its 10-episode third season on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on E! with the newest cast member, Rosa Mendes, joining the rest of the Divas as they compete for the highly coveted Diva's title at WrestleMania 30. Following an off-the-grid honeymoon, Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan are back in the ring, but are quickly challenged with unexpected newlywed hurdles as Daniel faces an injury and Brie considers motherhood. While Brie has babies on the brain, her sister Nikki contemplates freezing her eggs when she learns that John doesn't want children. Nattie and her WWE Superstar husband take a stab at couples therapy to work through their marital issues, Trinity and Ariane end their professional relationship as a WWE tag team, and Eva is forced to pick sides between her stubborn new husband and her disapproving father. On Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT, E! broadcast the Season 3 Winter premiere of TOTAL DIVAS, as a new duo emerges to shake up the dynamics of the cast: WWE Diva Alicia Fox and WWE Diva Paige. Former WWE Divas Champion, Paige, is a raven-haired Diva who preaches a simple message: she wants to mix it up in the ring. The talented Ms. Fox has etched her name in WWE record books as the first African-American woman to win the Divas Championship. Together, the two ladies, along with friend WWE Diva Rosa Mendes, form a clique in the locker room that rivals the Bella Twins and and WWE Diva Cameron, leaving Natalya stuck in the middle. As Season 3 progresses, a longtime feud between Ariane and Alicia forces the two Divas to go head-to-head. On the couple's front, the newly crowned WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella and WWE Superstar John Cena, are on the outs after he blindsided her with the idea that they may not be meant for each other. Brie Bella also has to confess to Nikki that she went behind her back and confronted Cena about his stance on marriage that lead to the couple's turmoil. Newlywed Eva Marie struggles with some surprising health and body image issues, while Brie seriously considers giving up her exciting career for a more domestic life.
On Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT, E! premiered the fourth season of TOTAL DIVAS, shortly after a five-hour marathon (1-6pm) of encore episodes from Season 3. This season, emotions will rise as all of the ladies must truly learn the art of harmonizing their rocky personal ventures and their in-ring personas. Brie Bella struggles with the injuries endured by her husband, WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan, as well as their fertility issues. Nattie has to overcome some personal obstacles her father is battling, meanwhile dealing with her sister moving in with her and her husband. Eva becomes public enemy number one when word gets out that WWE has big plans in raising her profile. Paige lands a role in WWE Studios' film SANTA'S LITTLE HELPER co-starring WWE Superstar The Miz and wearily ventures into a new romantic relationship. Trinity navigates the unfamiliar terrain of being a stepmom to the children of her husband, WWE Superstar Jimmy Uso, while also transitioning her in-ring character from a hero to a villain. Plus, each Diva is becoming a serious contender for Nikki's WWE Divas Championship title.
Season 5 of TOTAL DIVAS on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT on E!, with The Bella Twins, Eva Marie, Paige, Natalya, Rosa Mendes, and Alicia Fox continuing to give viewers an exclusive glimpse outside the arena and inside life in the WWE spotlight. Joining the Divas this season is the young and beautiful Mandy, the runner-up on the most recent season of WWE TOUGH ENOUGH, who brings her own flavor to the already vibrant group. Now Mandy must prove she can hold her own amongst the veteran Divas in their highly competitive world. This season, Brie has a lot of conflict with her sister Nikki as their lives and careers go in different directions. Brie and Nikki don't see eye-to-eye on a huge business venture, and when Nikki gets injured during her final days as the WWE Divas Champion, it leaves The Bella Twins' career in question. Brie has to contemplate her next career and life move, while Nikki wrestles with coming clean to her boyfriend, WWE Superstar John Cena, about the romantic advances made towards her by her ex-boyfriend, WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler. This love triangle puts John and Nikki's relationship to the test. Eva Marie continues to thrive with her in-ring training, despite the constant polarization from the other Divas. Paige confesses her true feelings about the quick engagement to her fiance. Rosa faces the challenge of finding purpose in her professional life while pregnant with her first child. Alicia warily ventures into a new romantic relationship. Nattie continues to work through the trials and tribulations of marriage while grappling with the feeling that the younger Divas' careers are flourishing more than hers.
TOTAL DIVAS returned for its sixth season on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 8pm ET/PT on E!, as Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, Eva Marie, Naomi (Trinity), Natalya (Nattie) and Paige continue to give viewers an inside glimpse at the non-stop action of their professional careers and the drama of their everyday lives. In addition, the new season introduces fans to WWE Superstars Lana and Maryse and WWE announcer Renee Young. This season, emotions are at an all-time high as all of the ladies come face-to-face with adversity and must grapple with separating their real life dilemmas from their in-ring careers. While rehabilitating an injury, Nikki Bella is determined to learn an entirely new style of performing in order to make a comeback and, against her sister Brie's wishes, she asks her recently retired brother-in-law Daniel Bryan(R) to coach her. While Brie might not agree with Nikki's decision to train with Daniel, she is plagued with her own difficult decision of retiring at WrestleMania 32 in order to start a family. Despite how hard she has worked, Eva Marie is left confused about where she stands in her WWE career when she isn't scheduled for any television matches following WrestleMania 32. Now she has to cope with the possibility that her once red-hot career in WWE could be fizzling out. Nattie gets a shot to go for the WWE Women's Championship title, but the crowd doesn't know how to react to her new villain persona after years of being known as the good girl. She has to pull out all the stops to try and save her storyline. While Paige, who is dealing with an injury this season, Eva and Nattie are all going through major challenges with their respective careers, Trinity lands a role in WWE's newest film, The Marine 5: Battleground, where she will star as a biker assassin. New cast member Lana is in full swing with the planning of her over-the-top circus-themed Malibu wedding to fellow WWE Superstar Rusev, but cultural differences within their families start to cause a rift when it's discovered that the nuptials will not be held in his native country of Bulgaria. WWE announcer Renee Young joins this season and takes on the role of mediator as she tries to help the group with their issues in and out of the ring, all while juggling her romantic relationship with WWE Superstar Dean Ambrose. Finally, all hell breaks loose when former two-time WWE Divas Champion and wife of WWE Superstar Mike "The Miz" Mizanin, Maryse makes an unexpected return to WWE after a five-year absence. With all of the women longing to stake their claim as the top contender for the Women's Championship, Maryse worries that even as a returning veteran she will have to reestablish herself with the fans and in the locker room. She knows in order to be the top woman in WWE, it's not about being better than you were yesterday; it's about being the best, period. On Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT, E! debuted the Season 6 spring premiere of TOTAL DIVAS. In the mid-season premiere, "The Draft," the big WWE draft is finally here and the superstars are all on pins and needles awaiting the outcome, which could affect their relationships and friendships. Meanwhile, Nikki is determined to get cleared by WWE after her injury and get drafted, and asks an apprehensive Nattie to train with her in the ring.
The seventh season of TOTAL DIVAS premiered on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT on E!, as Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, Naomi (Trinity), Natalya (Nattie), Lana and Maryse will join newcomers Carmella, Nia Jax and Alexa Bliss. This season, the cast travels around the world as they embark on new journeys, cross new thresholds and make difficult decisions about their futures in and out of the ring. Naomi is hoping to hit the trifecta effect; keeping her marriage fresh to fellow WWE Superstar Jimmy Uso, maintaining a crazy schedule and taking a chance to stand out as the SmackDown Live Women's Champion. Veteran cast member Natalya challenges Naomi's title reign in a heated rivalry for the SmackDown Live Women's Championship, all culminating in a showdown at SummerSlam, Season 7's most anticipated event. With the stakes higher than ever, the women must put on the best match of their lives. Meanwhile, The Bella Twins catch a case of "FOMO" during their time off from WWE. Together, they explore new ventures and contemplate when the best time would be to make their in-ring comeback. Off the heels of her whirlwind engagement to WWE Superstar John Cena, Nikki Bella gets ready to twist and twirl when she receives an offer from Dancing with the Stars that is hard to refuse. While Nikki is celebrating her long-awaited engagement in Cabo San Lucas, her sister Brie Bella is working on balancing the demands of being a new mom to her baby girl Birdie and managing her and Nikki's burgeoning businesses. To spend more time twinning, the ladies plan a road trip and head to San Diego for the summer with Brie's husband, WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan in tow. It's Vegas or bust when Maryse's husband Mike "The Miz" Mizanin refuses to leave Los Angeles after their second home burglary. With Maryse ready to head to Sin City, the two must decide where they will call home. Lana struggles to prioritize her life as a newlywed and her new role on SmackDown Live. When her husband, WWE Superstar Rusev reveals he wants a baby, she is torn between living her dream in the ring or starting a family sooner than later. New cast member Carmella, thinks she hit the jackpot with her boyfriend WWE Superstar Big Cass who she believes is "the one." However, with each of them planning on moving to opposite sides of the country, the future of their relationship depends on compromising on a new place to call home. Nia Jax, cousin of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, is part of a coveted WWE legacy. Despite her famous lineage, the dating world isn't working out the way Nia hoped it would. The women help her explore who she is and what she wants in a partner. With the growing rise of her career, Alexa Bliss is enjoying the fruits of her labor. But when her fiance, NXT Superstar Buddy Murphy visits during the biggest match of season seven, she is forced to confront her uncertainty about marrying him. Season 7 concludes late January 2018 with the show's 100th episode.
Season 8 of TOTAL DIVAS premiered on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT on E!. Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, Naomi (Trinity), Natalya (Nattie), Lana, Nia Jax and Paige will be part of a season that promises career highs and personal lows, buoyed by life-long friendships that help them weather the storm. She's baaack! The one and only Paige returns to season eight. After a career-threatening injury, Paige is figuring out the next step in her career, but in the meantime, WWE may have something in store for her. On a personal front, Paige looks to The Bella Twins to help her move beyond her past mistakes and build back her confidence. The season kicks off with the girls getting ready for WrestleMania Week in New Orleans. All eyes are on Nia Jax as she continues to impress in the ring. With her much-anticipated Raw Women's Championship match, Nia tries to up her game and enlists the help of a veteran Superstar to pick up some new moves. With Nikki's personal life front and center, she is learning to deal with a new kind of spotlight. Hoping to set the record straight between gossip column fodder and what she knows as the truth, Nikki holds her head high and puts her best foot forward at a time when changes are happening in her personal life. Having the girls around her for support encourages Nikki to challenge herself and the crew to dig deep and face their emotional fears on what is supposed to be a fun girls trip to Lake Tahoe. Now that Brie's husband Daniel Bryan is making a comeback, she wants to prove she's not going to slow down. While being a mom and juggling a flourishing business with her sister has been great, Brie feels like she may be missing out on bonding with the ladies. Natalya begins to explore what her back-up plan would be after watching Paige re-evaluate her career. As she looks ahead to her future, Natalya is also facing her family's history of Alzheimer's disease and is presented with an opportunity to get tested for the gene. Naomi has long wanted to move out of Pensacola, Florida and while on a girls trip to Atlanta, explores the idea of buying property with or without her husband WWE Superstar Jimmy Uso (Jon). When a symbol of their love and devotion goes missing, Naomi's carelessness causes a rift between them that money can't buy. Lana's husband WWE Superstar Rusev has baby fever and hopes that Lana can take a cue from Brie and Bryan so they can start a family of their own. Meanwhile, Lana continues to push herself physically and mentally in the ring. And, after a lifetime of constant forgetfulness, Lana is finally ready to confront the issue head on.

Her sights are set on winning the Royal Rumble(R) and a chance to become the WWE Raw(R) Women's Champion. Nia is feeling confident after her victorious showing in the Battle Royal at WWE's first-ever all women's pay-per-view event Evolution. However, there is trouble in paradise when she learns who her next opponent will be. Sonya is happy to be living out and proud and is ready for a serious relationship and respect in the ring. While settling into her new home in Ft. Lauderdale, an opportunity to move to Tampa presents itself and shakes up her entire world. After her recent break up, Carmella is focused on what's important to her and her career. She is faced with backlash while trying to balance both her friendships and new romantic relationship, putting both to the ultimate test. Naomi is excited to get down to business during the Royal Rumble in an effort to be the last woman standing. Having her close friends Sonya and Carmella on the road with her makes for many fun adventures along the way. Nikki and Brie connect with the ladies, whether it's at their Birdiebee fashion show or on the road.
