Plot Synopsis
Each season, a group of America's most skilled marksmen compete for the $100,000 prize package, a professional contract with Bass Pro Shops, and the title of "Top Shot." In each episode, contenders face team and individual elimination challenges inspired by real events in history -- from Wild West shootouts to modern-day sniper missions. During each test, high-speed, high-definition cameras capture their skillful execution in extreme slow-motion as they use different techniques and weapons, such as muzzle-loading muskets, modern pistols, slingshots, and throwing knives, which best represent the era being depicted. Some of the contestants are professionals, others are amateurs, and a few are even world record holders. Host Colby Donaldson was the runner-up on SURVIVOR: THE AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK (Season 2). TOP SHOT returned for its fifth season on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT with an all-star season featuring 16 sharp shooters from previous seasons, but this time they're on the own, because there are no teams. Plus, competitors faced a new challenge called "The Proving Ground." Returning TOP SHOT champions Iain Harrison, Chris Reed, Dustin Ellerman and Chris Cheng also took part in the All-Star season.
