Plot Synopsis
Using CGI graphics to visually travel back in time and tell stories from yesteryear, host Brian Unger shares tales that tourists won't find in the guidebooks and stories most Americans don't know yet. Plus, locals agree to accompany Unger to destinations they've never visited before and where ordinary travelers can't, because these sites are off limits to the general public. In each 30-minute episode, Unger makes two trips, including: San Francisco in the midst of the Great Depression, where he and his guests get an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the Golden Gate Bridge's engineering and design; New York City in 1913 for an adventure involving The Woolworth Building, the very first building to scrape the skies of Manhattan; Tombstone, AZ, where the restored touristy town of today transforms into the dusty Wild West locale of 1881; Las Vegas in the 1940s and '50s, where Hollywood celebrities like Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe flocked to Sin City to get unhitched; and many more locales that are symbols of American history.
