Plot Synopsis

TIME OF DEATH is a one-hour documentary series that follows terminally ill individuals as they live out their final days, supported by family, friends, healthcare teams and hospice workers. This series weaves together complex stories about death, life, humor and love, primarily focusing on Maria Lencioni, a single mother of three children appearing in all six episodes, who has Stage IV breast cancer and shows how hard it is to fight for your life. In addition to Maria, each 60-minute episode typically features the story of one other person, including: Michael John Muth, a Navy vet with a rare cancer, who managed to have an understanding and acceptance of the dying process; Lenore Lefer, who was an expert in grief and dying, because she was a therapist who helped people process their own deaths and grief; Cheyenne Bertiloni, who was the embodiment of someone who lived hard -- and not always right -- but tried to clean it up in the end; Dr. Toni Yancey, who shows how to make the most of life's moments, while saying goodbye to her partner and understanding death is inescapable; Laura Kovarik, who believed the day she was meant to die was decided by God, choosing not take extraordinary measures and going on a road trip; Morris 'Brad' Bradley Jr., who had made peace and acceptance with death, while surrounded by his loving wife and kids; and Nicolle Kissee, whose family shows how to be with your loved one when they die.
