Plot Synopsis
Whether they're jumping out of planes in Las Vegas or riding the world's first upside-down wooden rollercoaster in Wisconsin, ex-MYTHBUSTERS Kari Byron and Tory Belleci travel across America to serve as test subjects by strapping themselves into thrill rides and collecting data to reveal the science of fun. In THRILL FACTOR, the duo take their passion for adventure, travel and science to the max as they dive into the engineering, physics and biomechanics that explain why these wild rides excite adrenaline junkies. In each 30-minute episode of THRILL FACTOR, Kari and Tory explore a different theme, including: the fear of falling, as they examine how drop rides are designed to exploit riders' natural fear, as they plummet 355 feet on Falcon's Fury; a battle of the sexes, as they test groups of men and women on the launch coaster Thunderbird to determine which gender handles the rush of extreme thrills better; the effects of our senses, as Kari is vision- and hearing-deprived on Colorado's Glenwood Canyon Flyer ride, testing how sight and sounds add to the thrills of a ride; the best place to sit on a rollercoaster, as they use accelerometers and state-of-the-art eye-tracking equipment to determine the best seat on Hades 360 in Wisconsin; and much more.

On Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 8-9pm ET/PT, Travel Channel premiered the season finale of THRILL FACTOR, showing back-to-back new episodes. In the night's first new episode (8pm), "Air Heads," Kari & Tory climb aboard specially outfitted acrobatic aircrafts to test how intense g force conditions affect a person's body and mind. Then, in the season ender, "Bobsled Shred," Kari & Tory ride down a bobsled 60 mph around dangerous curves at Lake Placid, NY, a training ground for Olympian bobsled riders. However, will the thrill of the bobsled match that of the traditional roller coaster ride?
