Plot Synopsis
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES explores the camaraderie of four teenage brothers learning to rely on one another as they unravel the mystery of their existence and train to become the heroes they're destined to be. One day, while living a life in seclusion with his four pet turtles, the once human, Splinter, encountered a mysterious green ooze that covered him and his pets. Overcome by the mutagen, he was transformed into a rat and his four pets became humanoid turtles. Fearing persecution from humans, he brought the Turtles underground and raised them, training them to become ninjas. Traveling to the surface from their sewer lair home for the first time, the Turtles face enemies more dangerous and pizza more delicious than ever before as they confront the wondrous and hostile world of New York City. But when they spy a group of thugs attempting to kidnap a teenager April O'Neil and her father, the Turtles must leap into action. They soon discover that the surface world isn't as simple as it first appears, as they find themselves in the middle of a conspiracy involving alien creatures, robotic droids, missing scientists and come face-to-face with the same glowing green mutagen that mutated them in the first place. Nickelodeon aired a sneak-peek episode of this series on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 8pm ET, the night before the official series premiere on Saturday morning at 11am ET. TMNT returned for its second season on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 11am ET/PT on Nickelodeon. In the season opener, the Turtles discovered that the alien Kraang survived their previous showdown and now have dropped mutagen canisters all over NYC. Throughout the season, the Turtles' mission is to recover the canisters before more mutants can be created. Meanwhile, the Kraang and Shredder have united to put an end to the Turtles once and for all, which results in some very scary characters coming after the brothers. With Casey Jones' help, the Turtles take on some of the most bizarre and dangerous villains they have ever seen, all the while trying to unravel the mystery regarding April O'Neil and her importance to the Kraang. On Friday, October 3, 2014, one week after the Season 2 finale, Nickelodeon premiered the "Within the Woods," the Season 3 premiere of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES. In the season opener, the team comes to grips with the possibility that Leo won't get better, while things only get worse: a new mutant captures Raph! In Season 3, Seth Green joins the voice cast as Leonardo, alongside current voice talent: Rob Paulsen, Greg Cipes, Sean Astin, Mae Whitman, Hoon Lee, Kevin Michael Richardson, Josh Peck and Corey Feldman. The 20-episode fourth season of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES premiered on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 11am ET/PT on Nickelodeon. In the season opener, "Beyond the Known Universe," the Team meets a strange alien robot called the Fugitoid. On Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 9am ET/PT, Nickelodeon premiered the fifth and finale season of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES. In the season opener, "Scroll of the Demodragon," the Turtles believe they have defeated their old enemies, but they soon discover a new evil is rising. Guest Voice: Mark Hamill as Kavaxas.
