Plot Synopsis
Each year, more than a thousand people attend the prestigious, four-day TED (Technology , Entertainment, Design) conference, where fifty speakers each take an 18-minute time slot to communicate their best ideas. Plus, the conference includes many shorter presentations, including music, performance and comedy. Through their mission to share "ideas worth spreading", TED presenters have astounded, informed and inspired audiences for over 25 years, with stories that cover science, technology, business, design, the arts and the global issues facing our world. Each one-hour episode of this series features excerpts from four TED talks, including: JJ Abrams: Mystery Box; Bonnie Bassler: Bacteria; Robin Ince: Science Versus Wonder; Skylar Tibbits: Can We Make Things That Make Themselves?; Bill Gates: Innovating to Zero; Tim Harford: The God Complex; Aaron O'Connell: A Visible Quantum Object; Dan Ariely: Beware Conflict of Interest; John Hodgman: Aliens & Love; Dave Gallo: Underwater Astonishments; Heather Knight: Silicon-Based Comedy; V.S. Ramachandran: On Your Mind; Pamela Meyer: Spotting a Liar; Pranav Mistry: Sixth-Sense Technology; Phil Plait: Defending Earth from Asteroids; William Kamkwamba: Building a Windmill; Hans Rosling: The Best Stats Ever; Jill Bolte Taylor: Stroke of Insight; Eythor Bender: Human Exoskeletons; Peter Fankhauser: Meet the Dancing Ballbot.
