Plot Synopsis
Host Aarti Sequeira explores how different countries prepare and enjoy food when celebrating important events, taking a break from work, or hanging out with friends and family. With the help of world-renowned chefs and by making trips to iconic eateries, Aarti features five or six dishes from different regions in each 30-minute themed episode: "Birthday Treat," highlighting spicy soup with symbolism from China at Biang!, Honduras' favorite birthday dish cooked by Delmy Sanchez, the Italian birthday favorite Cassata cake, and a birthday wish from the Vanilla Bakeshop in Los Angeles; "Lunch on the Go," showing a wrap from Greece filled with only a few ingredients, Israel's popular pita sandwich, a Far East favorite with India's own spin on a lunch box at Tanzore, and a top Trinidadian beach treat; "Comfort Food," featuring Swedish cookbook author Anna Harrington and a comforting Scandinavian family classic, a Senegalese chef cooking up a scrumptious, hot stew at Cazamance, a comforting breakfast dish from the white hot restaurant Mission Chinese, and a sticky sweet beloved British dessert at Waterloo & City; "Game Day," kicking off with baseball food in Japan, chef Dale Talde preparing spicy fare for a boxing match, meat pies at rugby matches in Australia, and a Peruvian soccer-match sandwich at Amaru; "BBQ," getting fired up with a traditional Braai from South Africa, Japan's number one favorite BBQ at Takashi, Louisa Shafia combining flavors like pomegranate rose to create juicy kebabs for a Persian feast, and the Argentinean family style parrillada; and "Date Night," highlighted by romantic small bites from Spain at El Quinto Pino, authentic chocolate from an acclaimed French chocolatier, a unique Jamaicam stew from Nigel Spence's Ripe, and a steamy date night dish in Thailand presented by chef Hong Thaimee of Ngam.
