Plot Synopsis
SWEET HOME SEXTUPLETS is a one-hour reality series that follows Courtney and Eric Waldrop, as they try to raise their three older boys and new sextuplets on a sheep farm in small town Alabama. After childhood sweethearts Courtney and Eric had their oldest son Saylor, a miscarriage tragically revealed that Courtney had a blood clotting disorder which could risk both baby and mother's life, so they turned to fertility medication. The medication was a success when they got pregnant with their now five-year-old twins, Wales and Bridge. But they got the surprise of their lives when they tried for one more baby and had sextuplets. Now, in this series, viewers join the Waldrops just before they give birth to six new bundles of joy, through their high-risk delivery, the babies' admittance to the NICU, and adjusting to their new normal after bringing them all home. In the first episode, Courtney is 25 weeks pregnant and on strict bedrest. Because they live over an hour from the hospital where a team of over 30 staff members are assigned to the Waldrop delivery, anxieties are high to make sure everything goes according to plan. Cameras follow the tail-end of Courtney's pregnancy, including a gender reveal attended by the whole community, the arrival of all six babies and their immediate admittance to the NICU. Subsequent episodes follows the Waldrops bringing their babies home, managing the medical concerns that come with premature birth especially during flu season, going through about 70 diapers a day and enlisting friends and family to help with round-the-clock care and feedings, all while continuing to care for Saylor, Wales and Bridge. Plus, Courtney and Eric know they need more income long-term and must make major decisions for their future, which includes the possibility of Courtney going back to work as a teacher soon. On Monday, August 13, 2018 at 10:30pm ET/PT, TLC debuted a half-hour sneak peek of the series, with the official series premiere on Tuesday, September 18 at 10pm. In the series opener, "We're Having Six-Tuplets," the Waldrops are a sweet family from Alabama with three lively boys. Parents Courtney & Eric get the shock of their lives when Courtney becomes pregnant with sextuplets. They face a high-risk delivery and the stress of becoming parents of nine overnight.
Season 2 of SWEET HOME SEXTUPLETS premiered on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT on TLC. It's a season of firsts as the Waldrop babies turn one! Blu, Layke, Rawlings, Rayne, Rivers and Tag are developing distinct personalities, taking first steps, speaking first words and sharing milestones. The babies have come a long way from the NICU. Now that they are bigger and more mobile, they get to play with their older brothers Saylor, Wales and Bridge and are keeping their parents, Courtney and Eric, on their toes. As a full-time mom to nine children, Courtney is determined to manage the household chaos herself, and she will be tested with a family flu outbreak, concerns about the babies' development and whether Layke will need to have surgery to correct his heart condition. Desperate to keep everything in line, will Courtney be able to juggle everything without breaking down? Plus, the walls are closing in on Courtney, and she realizes one solution is to move to a bigger home. But Eric wants to stay put and remodel, which could add even more strain to the Waldrops' already jam-packed agenda. Throughout all the struggles and chaos, the Waldrops experience the joys of celebrating their first Christmas at home and vacation as a family of 11, with plenty of excitement and fun for all. The Waldrops may not know what the future holds with their "divine nine," but they're ready to navigate it all with the love and support from their friends and family. In the season opener, "We Survived a Year...Barely," Courtney tackles planning the sextuplets' first birthday party, but taking care of six babies threatens to overwhelm her. The Waldrops struggle with a big decision as they realize their house will not accommodate a family of eleven.
SWEET HOME SEXTUPLETS returned for its third season on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 10pm ET/PT on TLC. Big changes are afoot in the Waldrop household. With major home renovations underway, the family of 11 considers moving into a 1,500 square-foot mobile home for the duration of the construction. The move would mean substantially less space for the supersized family, and with the increasingly mobile babies approaching their "terrible twos," every square-inch matters. They're also ready to start potty training - a herculean task for parents of sextuplets under the best of circumstances. If they move into a mobile home, will Courtney and Eric be able to handle potty training six babies on portable potties? Outside of the home, the sextuplets are starting preschool early, which Courtney and Eric hope will facilitate their continued development. And with money a little tight during home renovations, the family decides to hold one birthday extravaganza for all nine kids, since their birthdays all fall within a month of each other. But will Courtney and Eric be able to make each child feel special if they're all sharing the spotlight? TLC debuted the Season 3 fall premiere of SWEET HOME SEXTUPLETS on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 10pm ET/PT. With their house undergoing renovations, the Waldrops have downsized to a mobile home, and while they all technically fit, it gets extra tight when the sextuplets outgrow their cribs. Outside of the chaos in the mobile home, their Alabama town is hit hard with one crisis after another. When storms tear through the south, the Waldrops realize that a mobile home is the last place you want to be during a tornado. And when the coronavirus reaches the United States, Courtney and Eric are faced with the reality that they'll be quarantining in a mobile home that barely fits all eleven of them.

On Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 10pm ET/PT, TLC premiered "Survival Mode," the Season 3 finale of SWEET HOME SEXTUPLETS. After years of renovations, the Waldrops finally move into their new home. School is starting for the boys, and fears of COVID-19 lead Courtney and Eric to consider homeschooling. They also decide to send the sextuplets to a speech pathologist.
