Plot Synopsis

SUPER GREAT ROOMS is a half-hour reality series that follows expert builder Chip Wade, as he transforms dysfunctional spaces into beautiful new great rooms that the whole family can enjoy. On Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from 11am-12:30pm ET/PT, DIY Network premiered three back-to-back episodes, but the cable channel had no other episodes on its schedule at that time. In the series opener (11am), "Sunken Living Room," homeowners Chris and Melissa call on Chip to turn two rooms into one great room, so Chip creates a sunken living area with a hidden playroom, resurfaces an existing fireplace and creates a 3D wave wall to house media equipment. In the middle episode (11:30am), "Indoor-Outdoor Family Room," Chip tears down a main wall in Claire and Scott's suburban rambler to create a massive family room, where he builds play towers, creates an entertainment island with a faux skylight, and transforms the patio area into an outdoor dining room. In the day's final episode (Noon), "Beachy Cottage Great Room," Jason and Annie want Chip to combine their dark living and dining rooms into one open, airy great room, so Chip vaults the ceiling to the roof line, installs faux beams, and suspends leather chairs from the ceiling.
