Plot Synopsis

Using re-enactments and first-person interviews with victims, family members, friends, and law enforcement, A STRANGER IN MY HOME documents the true tales of homeowners who invited others into their houses and suffered disastrous fates at the hands of their visitors. Each 60-minute episode chronicles a different case, including those of: Alvaro 'Bert' Montoya, a favorite tenant at Dorothea Puente's Sacramento boardinghouse, who unwittingly exposed something sinister; Mickey Widmer and her boyfriend Darnell Mears, who moved into a Minnesota trailer park looking for a fresh start, but found reclusive neighbor Rick Taber growing too close for comfort; and many more stories of people who let the wrong person into their homes -- and their lives. A STRANGER IN MY HOME returned for its second season on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT. In the season opener, "Star-Crossed Murder," air traffic controller Gene Thurnau moves to St-Petersburg, Florida to start over. He meets Jaye-Jaye, and soon they marry and begin building their dream home. But ghosts from Gene's past bring unwanted tension and horror into their perfect home. Season 3 of A STRANGER IN MY HOME premiered on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery. In the season opener, "Death of Youth," almost 50-year-old Brian Geddes invites 22-year-old Jordan Shaver into his home, but she decides to start a new life with someone else. And when Brian becomes MIA, his home reveals chaos, drugs, a gun, and a bloody secret...devastating all involved.

On Friday, April 22, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT, Investigation Discovery premiered the Season 3 finale of A STRANGER IN MY HOME. In the season ender, "Deadly Love Nest," housemates Jenny, Jake, and Steve share everything, including each other's beds. But when one is brutally attacked, police uncover a nest of lies, jealousy, and betrayal. This leads them to ask: was it really an intruder...or was it an inside job?
