Created, written, and executive produced by Nick Hornby, STATE OF THE UNION is a short-form anthology series that explores relationships and the human experience.
Season 1 of STATE OF THE UNION is short-form dramedy series that follows Louise and Tom who meet in a pub immediately before their weekly marital therapy session, where they delve into how they came together and, how eventually, their marriage fell into disrepair. With each successive 10-minute episode, the series pieces together how their lives were, what drew them together and what has started to pull them apart. STATE OF THE UNION, which explores the complexities of marriage with inimitable honesty and humor, premiered on SundanceTV on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 10-10:15pm ET/PT. Subsequent episodes debut each weeknight (Mon-Fri) at 10pm for two weeks, through May 17. In addition, two episodes of the series are released each day at 5pm ET/2pm PT on SundanceNow, SundanceTV.com and the SundanceTV app from May 6 through May 10. STATE OF THE UNION was an official selection of the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and screened at the Tribeca Film Festival on May 4.

The entire 10-episode second season of STATE OF THE UNION drops on Valentine's Day 2022 (Monday, February 14) on SundanceNow. In Season 2, liberal campaigning Ellen drags her traditional, self-made husband Scott out of his comfort zone and into a hipster Connecticut coffee shop, where they have 10 minutes before their marriage counseling session to drink a coffee, gather their thoughts and argue about everything from Quakerism to pronouns. Amongst the bickering they also discuss betrayals from their past, how they're changing as people, and what the future of their relationship might look like in a changing world. The short form series also unfold across 10 episodes, each 10 minutes in length, over 10 nights starting February 14 at 10pm on SundanceTV.
