Plot Synopsis

This sequel to the original STAR TREK focuses on the years that Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise -- in the decade before Captain Kirk boarded -- as he and the crew explore new worlds around the galaxy. In this series, Anson Mount plays Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn portrays Number One, and Ethan Peck is Science Officer Spock -- all three performers reprising their roles from Season 2 of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY. The first episode of STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS dropped on Thursday, May 5, 2022 on Paramount+, with a new episode debuting each Thursday through July 7. STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS made its linear television debut with back-to-back episodes on Star Trek Day 2023 (Friday, September 8, 2023) from 8-10:15pm ET/PT on CBS, which featured the first two episodes of the series.

The sophomore season of STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS premiered on Thursday, June 15, 2023 on Paramount+, as the streaming service released the season opener. A new episode drops each Thursday throughout the Summer. In Season 2, the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, under the command of Captain Christopher Pike, confronts increasingly dangerous stakes, explores uncharted territories and encounters new life and civilizations. The crew will also embark on personal journeys that will continue to test their resolve and redefine their destinies. Facing friends and enemies both new and familiar, their adventures will unfold in surprising ways never seen before on any STAR TREK series. The new season features the return of special guest star Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk and new addition Carol Kane in a recurring role as Pelia.
