Plot Synopsis

SPACE'S DEEPEST SECRETS shares the stories of the men and women who pushed their ingenuity and curiosity beyond the limits to uncover some of the most groundbreaking findings in the history of space exploration. The two-hour premiere introduces viewers to the minds behind NASA's New Horizons mission to Pluto, the Hubble Telescope and four other past, current and future missions and projects. Carolyn Porco and Alan Stern are among those who put their careers and lives on the line to embark upon missions that resulted in feats ranging from the discovery of water vapor on one of Saturn's moons to the first attempted exploration of Pluto. These men and women, all responsible for new discoveries, give personal firsthand accounts of how they accomplished the seemingly impossible. Each subsequent one-hour episode of Season 1 explores one story, including: Was Einstein Wrong?; Death of the Solar System; Alien Oceans; Secret History of the Voyager Mission; The Plot Against Gravity.

The sophomore season of SPACE'S DEEPEST SECRETS premiered on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT on Science Channel. The two-hour season opener, "NASA's Greatest Moments," highlights the triumphant space program's most inspirational and formative moments. Other stories explored this season include space weather, massive black holes, the volcanoes of the solar system, and the hunt for a mysterious hidden universe.

Science Channel premiered the fourth season of SPACE'S DEEPEST SECRETS on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT. In the season opener, "The Time Travel Enigma," time travel is less impossible than we think, and the newest discoveries in space and theoretical physics have us on the brink of cracking one of the universe's greatest puzzles.

SPACE'S DEEPEST SECRETS returned for its fifth season on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT on Science Channel. In the season opener, "Mystery of the Alien Asteroid," a strange alien object is discovered speeding through the solar system, and experts race to uncover if it's real evidence of extraterrestrial contact or a deadly asteroid on a collision course with planet earth.

Season 6 of SPACE'S DEEPEST SECRETS premiered on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 9pm ET/PT on Science Channel. The new season kicks off with "Pluto: Back From The Dead," a new episode that features new close-up images of the dwarf planet Pluto, which reveals an active world that was once thought to be geologically dead. Using cutting-edge technology, experts uncover if there could be alien life on Pluto.

The seventh season of SPACE'S DEEPEST SECRETS debuted on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT on Science Channel. In the season opener, "Mystery of the Dead Planets," astronomers are laying the groundwork to locate a new planet for the human race to inhabit, and the more alien worlds they discover and encounter, the more they unmask the mysterious and truly destructive nature of the cosmos.
