Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Myron Mixon, SMOKED features two pitmasters with a personal history who are pitted against each other in a BBQ battle to prove once and for all who's the best. Along with a rotating panel of all-star judges, Myron guides the action and ultimately decides the competitors' fate. Each competition is broken down into three rounds: The Long Cook starts with eight hours on the clock and a race to cook a perfect cut of meat such as pork shoulder, ribs, or brisket. While the smoker does its job, the Kingsford One Bite Challenge gives the pitmasters 30 minutes to create the ultimate grilled bite prepared over Kingsford charcoal. Finally, the Big Grill-Off sends the pitmasters off to the races with a challenge unique to each rivalry such as crafting an entire meal on the grill or creating multiple dishes using the same protein. Along the way, judges name a winner of each round and whoever comes out ahead in the end wins the glory, a cash prize of $5,000 and often a personal side bet between the competitors. Guest judges include Brad Orrison, Chris Lilly, Melissa Cookston, Robert Smith, Dr. BBQ, and Moe Cason. The competitors in Season 1 are: Texas beef specialist Ernest Servantes and Georgia pork expert Robby Royal; husband and wife Tommy and Jen Duncan; old school Lonnie Smith and young hotshot Brad Sweet; Jeff 'Rhino' Bannister and Arturo Ramon; Leslie Scott and Brooke Orrison; perennial Florida BBQ Champions Matt Barber and Jim Elser; best friends Phil 'The Grill' Johnson and Sterling 'Smitty' Smith; and 'Famous' Dave Anderson of Famous Dave's BBQ and Brandon Manly, the COO of Sonny's BBQ.

On Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT Destination America premiered the Season 1 finale of SMOKED. In the season ender, "Franchise Kings," the brains behind BBQ chains Famous Dave's and Sonny's BBQ have called on Myron Mixon to settle their rivalry. Three rounds of BBQ and grilling will determine whose favorite charity takes home $10,000. Who will stand tall, and who will get Smoked?
