Plot Synopsis

SMILE is a one-hour reality series that follows five dentists -- New York-based Dr. Amir Ahmadi, Dr. Debra Glassman and Dr. Ramin Tabib, and Dr. Kimberly Knopf and Dr. Bill Dorfman in Los Angeles -- as they fix their patients' most challenging dental conditions, using their expertise to restore their clients' smiles while giving them the ability to reclaim their confidence and pride. Each 60-minute episode features two patients, including the series premiere, which focuses on: college senior Alyssa, who was born with a disabling genetic disorder that prevented many of her teeth from fully growing in; Mark, who had perfect teeth growing up, and always loved to smile until an accident during a high school baseball game left him with a shattered mouth and low self-esteem; and many more individuals who have such poor dental conditions that they can't fathom dating, working or even leaving home due to the extreme distress, pain and embarrassment they experience daily.
