Plot Synopsis

Teenage Eli Shane and his best friends, the Shane Gang, fight for justice in the mysterious, high-tech underground world of Slugterra. To follow in his father's footsteps and become Slugterra's greatest slugslinger, Eli must defeat Dr. Blakk and the forces of evil by collecting, training and dueling with little critters called Slugs, which are magically powered critters that transform into battling creatures. SLUGTERRA follows Eli and his crew as they explore the caverns, challenge rivals and each other to friendly duels, upgrade their cool gear, and battle Dr. Blakk and his army of henchmen, who are seeking to "ghoul" the slugs, transforming them into feral mindless weapons. Eli grew up on the surface, always dreaming of the day his father, Will Shane, would take him down to Slugterra to become The Shane -- a slugslinging hero who protects this amazing underground world from bad guys. When his father goes missing, Eli drops down to Slugterra alone on his 15th birthday to learn how to become the greatest slugslinger of all. While in Slugterra, Eli learns to use a Defender Slipstream XVL for his blaster, while riding his Mecha Beast, Lucky, and using his favorite slugs: Burpy, Joules, Doc. One of these slugs, Burpy, is Eli's best buddy because he left Will's arsenal to find Eli right before Will went missing, and now he's the general to Eli's army of slug buddies. The Shane Gang includes: Kord, a huge cave troll and gear-head mechanic, who fixes the team's mecha-beasts and upgrades their blasters and is pretty easy-going with a big heart to match his giant biceps; Pronto, a proud and knowledgeable molenoid tracker, who is a master rogue, slugslinger and adventurer with a built-in magnetic compass; and Trixie, the group's resident slug expert, whose dream is to make a documentary film about slugs because nobody realizes they have feelings and their own language. Their enemy, Dr. Thaddius Blakk, is the owner of the powerful Blakk Industries, which hides his true purpose: to control all of Slugterra and use dark science to destroy the magical slug energy that protects this underground world. His evil army includes: El Diablus Nacho, a massive slug-shooter of mysterious origins, who is Dr. Blakk's "special operations" enforcer, wielding a massive Growler Kiloton blaster; brothers Locke and Lode, who are demolition experts and henchmen summoned when something needs to get destroyed -- or when someone needs to be persuaded by that threat; Billy, a member of the Hooligang, who is a teen rebel slugslinging wannabee, spending most of his ill-begotten time illegally tricking out his Mecha-beast; and Shorty, a muscular fireplug of a girl with a sawed-off slinger, who is also a member of the Hooligang.
