Plot Synopsis

In each half-hour episode of SLEDGEHAMMER, Jason Cameron surprises unsuspecting homeowners with a sledgehammer and permission to demo the most hated rooms in their house in 30 minutes so they can get them renovated. The catch is that the homeowners have to completely demo one room before they can move on to the next. The most important decision is where to start, as Cameron and crew clean up the rubble and transform the ruined rooms into dream spaces. DIY Network aired the series premiere on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT, showing back-to-back episodes. During the premiere, homeowners Simon and Molly demolish an interesting basement with a leprechaun mural that needs to come down, a drop ceiling and a bar on its last legs.

SLEDGEHAMMER returned for its second season on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 11:30pm ET/PT on DIY Network. In the season opener, "Building a Better Basement," Jason smashes an old kitchenette and a hideous bathroom in Michael and LaToya's basement, then he turns it into a child-friendly space that doubles as a guestroom.
