Plot Synopsis

SINS OF THE CITY is a true-crime docuseries that features experts, community leaders, family members, and the like, providing real-life perspectives and insights into the underbelly of American cities and highlighting perplexing crimes that will forever alter the fabric of these communities. In the series opener, "Minneapolis," viewers revisit the tragic events surrounding the death of George Floyd. The episode explores the events in Floyd's life leading up to his murder, beginning with his relocating to Minneapolis to find better opportunities after being released from prison in Houston, TX. Floyd, who was described as a loving, supportive, guiding presence and 'gentle giant to his loved ones, lost his life at the hands of Minneapolis Police on May 25, 2020. The result of this action is now known as the spark of injustice heard around the world with tensions within the city reigniting after the conviction of officer Derek Chauvin.

On Monday, January 24, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT, TV One premiered the second season of SINS OF THE CITY. Season 2 opens with an episode about Houston. Texas has a rich and diverse history, but in 2015, the city of Houston falls prey to string of lethal armored car robberies striking terror in the streets. Investigators must pull off an elaborate sting operation to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Season 3 of SINS OF THE CITY premiered on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT on TV One. The season opener centers on Brunswick, Georgia, which is known for its abundant coastal beauty. But underneath its facade lies a history of racial tensions and political corruption. And in 2020, the murder of Ahmaud Arbery reveals the city's dark secrets to the entire world.

The fourth season of SINS OF THE CITY premiered on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 10pm ET/PT on TV One. In the season opener, "Sanford, Florida," Sanford, Florida would become the epicenter of a nationwide debate in 2012 when George Zimmerman shoots and kills Trayvon Martin. Trayvon's death ignites the Black Lives Matter movement and puts Sanford center stage for the trial of the century.
