Plot Synopsis
SHUT EYE is a drama series that follows the story of Charlie Haverford, a scammer with a small chain of fortune-telling storefronts, who becomes a real psychic after being hit on the head. Not only is Charlie a scammer, but he also contracts building tricks for a family that controls the fortune-telling business in the greater chunk of Los Angeles. A blow to the head from a client's angry boyfriend intersects with a hypnosis session while auditioning a new "clairvoyant," and suddenly, a man whose entire life has been based on fraud begins to see and feel some very real and fundamental truths. Charlie's wife Linda is sick and tired of their mediocre life and wants to break away from Fonso, the single father who runs the Marks family's psychic empire and controls the Haverford's future, with Rita, the cunning, seductive and sadistic matriarch of the Marks clan, always present. But with his visions intensifying, Charlie turns to neurologist Dr. Nora White for some unorthodox help, but it gets worse when Charlie struggles to understand disturbing visions of a fiery death and his own drowning. Hulu released the entire 10-episode first season of SHUT EYE on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT.

Hulu released the entire 10-episode second season of SHUT EYE on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. Charlie promised Linda a home when they first met -- a luxury they have yet to truly relax into all these years later, given their never-ending chase of the next con. Now, more than ever, Charlie and Linda need to completely trust one another, but that's never been easy for these two unrelenting con-artists. As Linda struggles with Gina's death, her concern over Charlie's sanity, and the thinning thread of faith she has for her husband's "plan" to save their lives and livelihood, Charlie plots to get out from under Fonso, Rita, and Eduardo's thumbs. Meanwhile, he continues to attempt to make sense of his visions and to further his quest to finally realize a "home" for his family. The Marks family faces similar uncertainty as their home has quite literally been taken from them. Fonso and Rita are left at odds following the dramatic events surrounding Drina and Li'l Tony's wedding. Rita, a staunch defender of tradition, quickly learns that her future depends on deftly navigating her obligations to her family and her culture. Her life is further complicated by a federal investigation that threatens everything she holds dear. Fonso, now cast out from his family and community, must reinvent himself and figure out where this new incarnation belongs. Even in Los Angeles -- a city caught between bullshit and enlightenment -- there is no place like home. In the season opener, "We're Not in Kansas Anymore," Charlie and Linda consider their options in the aftermath of the disastrous wedding between Drina and Li'l Tony and how to handle their precarious windfall. Fonso is called to a special meeting of the Roma Council while Simza copes with White Tony's untimely death. Rita is given an unexpected opportunity.
