Plot Synopsis

Shimmer and Shine are twin genies-in-training who make wishes come true for their friend, Leah, who is straightforward, honest, very patient, and does whatever it takes to make the people she cares about happy. Although the genie sisters can grant three wishes a day, things don't always go as planned. One time, when Leah and her friend and neighbor Zac were building a treehouse, they found themselves over their heads. But when Leah asked her genies for a treehouse, they transformed it into a house of trees instead. And none of these hi-jinks phase Zac, who doesn't know about Leah's secret genies and chooses to just shrug off these odd events. Plus, the genies have animal sidekicks. Shine's Bengal tiger cub Nahal is silly and feisty and loves to pounce, but she can also be a bit of a scaredy-cat. She is very sweet and melts whenever Shine scratches her belly. Shimmer's monkey Tala is a sweet, playful goofball who loves to climb all over Shimmer and sit on her shoulders and head. She loves to dress up and her natural curiosity can sometimes cause a bit of trouble. This animated educational series teaches pre-schoolers the power of problem-solving skills by using a curriculum that features teamwork, resilience, and overcoming obstacles.

Season 3 of SHIMMER AND SHINE premiered on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11am ET/PT on Nickelodeon. In the season opener, "Underground Bound; Wishy Washy Genie," as the girls search for Leah's lost necklace, an underground creature finds it and begins making wishes with it; after Zac wishes to stay in Zahramay Falls forever, the children search for a powerful genie to reverse the wish.
