Plot Synopsis

Since 2013, on each night of SHARK WEEK, a comedian -- Josh Wolf (2013 & 2014), Eli Roth (2015-2017), Julian McCullough (2018), and Rob Riggle (2019) -- hosts SHARK AFTER DARK, Discovery's first late-night live talk show. The host introduces fan-favorite moments from past years of SHARK WEEK, reveals sneak peeks of the next day's programs, and welcomes celebrity guests, shark experts and shark attack survivors, among others. Plus, SHARK AFTER DARK gives viewers the opportunity to interact live on-air every night with tweets, questions to the shark experts and more.

Hosted again by Josh Wolf, SHARK AFTER DARK 2014 premiered Sunday, August 10, 2014 at 11pm ET/PT and aired during SHARK WEEK through Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 11pm-Midnight ET/PT. SHARK AFTER DARK returned for its third season on Sunday, July 5, 2015 with an all-new host: award-winning film director, producer, writer and actor Eli Roth. For five consecutive nights at 11pm ET/PT -- from Sunday, July 5 through Thursday, July 9 -- Roth made his mark on SHARK WEEK with celebrity guests, shark fans and shark experts, among many others. Additionally, Roth will look back at some of the highlights from SHARK WEEK and look ahead to give viewers a sneak peek at the next day's SHARK WEEK programs. In the season opener, Michael Pena and Joe Romeiro discuss "Island of the Mega Shark," and "Monster Mako."

The fourth cycle of SHARK AFTER DARK premiered on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 11pm ET/PT on Discovery, with Eli Roth returning to host. In the season opener, Kevin Hart joins Eli and shark filmmaker Joe Romeiro to discuss their love for sharks, discover what the apex predators are capable of eating, and how to get the best footage underwater. SHARK AFTER DARK continues to air nightly at 11pm through Thursday, June 30, with these guests: Chelsea Handler and shark expert Dickie Chivell; Anthony Jeselnik, shark cinematographer Jeff Kurr and animal expert Brandon McMillan; Candance Cameron Bure and shark bite survivor Paul De Gelder; and shark filmmaker Andy Casagrande and diver Ashlan Cousteau.

SHARK AFTER DARK returned for its fifth season on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 11:05pm ET/PT on Discovery, hosted again by Eli Roth and airing nightly at 11pm through Thursday, July 27. Guests this year include: Tony Hale and shark cinematographer Joe Romeiro (Sun, July 23); Anthony Jeselnik and marine biologist Vicky Vasquez (Mon, July 24); Chris Hardwick, Regina Hall and marine biologist Craig O'Connell (Tue, July 25); NAKED AND AFRAID Cory Williams and Anastasia Ashley, Moby, and filmmaker Devon Massyn (Wed, July 26); and Charlize Theron and cinematographer Andy Casagrande (Thu, July 27).

Season 6 of SHARK AFTER DARK premiered on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 11pm ET/PT on Discovery, with a new host: actor, writer, producer and comedian Julian McCullough. For five nights, McCullough brings the fin and games as he chats with celebrity guests, shark fans and shark experts, among many others live. Plus, swimming back from the depths of the deep blue sea for his late-night appearance is America's favorite cartilaginous sidekick Bob the Shark. Each night, McCullough is joined by celebrity guests and shark experts alike to look back at some of the most fintastic highlights from SHARK WEEK in addition to giving viewers a sneak peek at upcoming SHARK WEEK programs. The seventh season of SHARK AFTER DARK premiered on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 11pm ET/PT on Discovery, with a new host: comedian, retired Marine and self-proclaimed 'shark expert' Rob Riggle. Riggle is joined by celebrity guests and shark experts each night to discuss and highlight some of the biggest, scariest and totally jawsome moments from SHARK WEEK 2019, while also giving viewers a sneak peek at what's to come later in the programming. Breaching from the depths of the sea and joining Shark After Dark once again is America's favorite cartilaginous sidekick, Bob the Shark. Riggle and his guests will also be joined each night by esteemed DJ and producer Jauz as a nightly DJ. Jauz, who is partnering this year with Discovery Channel in a variety of ways, will also be included in additional SHARK WEEK programming, and his mega-hit remix of 'Baby Shark' will be used on air throughout SHARK WEEK programming. Sunday, July 28 @ 11pm ET/PT: Rob is joined by his SHARK TRIP: EAT. PREY. CHUM. co-stars Adam Devine and Joel McHale, along with shark expert Paul de Gelder.

Monday, July 29 @ 11pm ET/PT: A shark of sorts himself, Mark Cuban joins Rob for Monday's lineup, alongside cinematographer and shark expert, Andy Casagrande.

Tuesday, July 30 @ 11pm ET/PT: Rob is joined by Sarah Tiana, co-host of the Riggle's Picks podcast, as well as American comedian and radio personality, Adam Carolla, and SHARK WEEK filmmaker Jeff Kurr.

Wednesday, July 31 @ 11pm ET/PT: Josh Duhamel star of SHARK WEEK's first scripted feature-length film, CAPSIZED: BLOOD IN WATER, joins Rob, special guest Steve Austin, alongside shark experts Luke Tipple and Mark Rober.

Thursday, August 1 @ 11pm ET/PT: TV presenter and comedian Howie Mandel helps Rob to round out the lineup as he joins shark expert and cinematographer, Joe Romeiro to discuss another epic SHARK WEEK run.
