Plot Synopsis

SELF-MADE MANSIONS follows design guru and entrepreneur Clinton Kelly, as he shops for new homes for self-made folks -- those who have gone from rags to riches because of their hard work, determination and ingenuity.

On Wednesday, January 1, 2020 from 6:30-7pm ET/PT, HGTV premiered SELF-MADE MANSIONS, but the cable channel had no other episodes on its schedule at that time. This half-hour sneak-peek episode, "The Comfy Life," features the Speciale family, who appeared on SHARK TANK and have made millions on their oversized sweatshirt/blanket "The Comfy." The Speciales want to upgrade from their current 1500-square-foot house in Cave Creek, Arizona, to a much larger home complete with a chef's kitchen, dual home offices, and a fully-stocked backyard with a pool, batting cage and putting green for their two kids.

HGTV premieres "Cookie Cutter Home," a second sneak-peek episode one year later on New Year's Day 2021 (Friday, January 1) from 9:30-10:30pm ET/PT. Clinton helps The Cut Buddy's Joshua Esnard and The Cookie Department's Akiva and Elannah Resnikoff search for dream homes. Joshua has netted $5 million from his grooming tools, while the Resnikoffs have sold millions of their Keto-friendly cookies.

SELF-MADE MANSIONS has its official series premiere one week later on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 8pm on HGTV. In this episode, "Entrepreneurship Runs in the Family," Clinton helps Patrick Barnhill, whose company Specialist ID's is the leading distributor for photo IDs, find his dream home. Then, he helps Labriah Lee and Kevin Holt, the creators of Sweetroots Hair Bar, in upgrading their lifestyle.
