Plot Synopsis
SEASIDE SNACKS & SHACKS is a half-hour reality series that follows Sabin Lomac, a native of Maine and a lobster roll expert, who is in search of America's most decadent and delicious eats by the seaside. On Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 10pm ET/7pm PT, Cooking Channel premiered the series pilot, but the cable channel had no other episodes on its schedule at that time. In the pilot, "From Boardwalk Barbecue to Lazy Man Lobster," Sabin heads to a bar on Long Island, NY where drinks are served beachside. As boats pull right up to the bar, he digs in to a crab cake- bacon grilled cheese sandwich, filled with ooey-gooey yumminess! Then it's off to Seaside Heights, N.J, where the talk of the town is a barbecued pulled pork sandwich called 'The Fat Dom." In Milwaukee, Sabin visits a staple of Lake Michigan summer for their famous Quad burger with four patties and locally sourced cheese, served with cheese curds and custard for a true "dairy state" experience. Sabin Lomac is in lobster heaven in Rockport Mass. at a seaside shack that has been open since 1918, for a lobster roll and seafood as fresh as you can get. Ten months after the pilot debuted, SEASIDE SNACKS & SHACKS had its series premiere on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 10pm ET/7pm PT on Cooking Channel. In the series opener, "Burgers, Beaches...Bananas!," Sabin is searching out the country's most decadent and delicious eats by the seaside. First he lands at Lulu's, a "high class dive" in Gulf Shores run by Jimmy Buffet's sister Lucy, for a Fried Green Tomato Pimento Cheese Burger. Next, Sabin hops on a golf cart and heads straight for Lucy Bell's on South Carolina's Daufuskie Island, where he tries their famous deviled blue crab and show-stopping Southern fried chicken. From there, Sabin goes San Diego's Barrio Dogg, famous for its Chile Con Carne Dog with a three-meat punch and its five-alarm Bombero Dog topped with seven salsas. His last stop is Sugar 'n Spice on Balboa Island, Calif., where the frozen banana has been king since 1945. Sabin tries out the standard chocolate dipped with rainbow sprinkles and the famous PB&J frozen bananas before he creates his own.

On Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 10pm ET/7pm PT, Cooking Channel premiered "Endless Summer," the season finale of SEASIDE SNACKS & SHACKS. In the season ender, Sabin heads to Calabash, N.C., for a Calabash Stew with fresh seafood and a one-two punch of sausage and deep-fried corn at Waterfront Seafood Shack. In Miami, Fla., he finds a hidden gem at Moreno's Cuba in South Beach, famous for their traditional Lechon served with rice and beans and their nontraditional Ropa Vieja Empanada. Next, Sabin heads to Traverse City, Mich., where artisan sausage joint Wren the Butcher is serving up scratch-made Farmhouse Sausage that uses pickled veggies in a play on sausage and peppers. Their Poutine is a Canadian classic reimagined for an ooey-gooey flavor explosion. Finally, back in Scarborough, Maine, Sabin relives his childhood at Salty Bay where he can once again get his hands on their famous Clam Cakes and Fish Bits that are a quintessential Maine combo.
